I just got the cabling to use my Noire X with my Qudelix 5k and it’s good enough for me. I was thinking of getting something more powerful but with my listening levels and eq, I don’t see the need.

Using it balanced, but haven’t needed the high gain mode.

Loxjie D40 Pro.
Finally enough power. Now I am satisfied.

I rely on Amir's review and your positive feedback and have also ordered the headphones.
Hopefully it won't be a nasty surprise.

Someone has compared this headphone with a Fostex th-900 mk2 ?
I'd be curious to read your opinion on the differences/similarities between these two headphones.

For those that have tried both the Noire X and the E3 what is the verdict on comfort and size? I am shopping blind as no shops near me stock DCA headphones . The price differential is not a problem. I buy gear to keep for the long haul.

Specifically;

1) I have a large cap size and small ears. I wear slim aluminum framed glasses. My current headphones are the Denon D9200 and I have bent the upper frame and purchased much larger pads so my ears would not touch the drivers. Considering my physical markers would the E3 fit better than the Noire X, or vice versa? The E3 looks a bit larger in the ear cup area so that may be important. Just looking for some member input.

2). I prefer the Harman curve with a 1db treble shelf lift at 12Khz and a 2-3db bass shelf lift at 80hz. Which device is the better option considering my current estimated adjusted EQ response chocie. The Noire X has higher distortion in both areas, but it's seems to be the brighter device out of the box.

3)Also which device limits sound to leak oustide better for potential office use? I wear glasses and expect some leakage, but the less the better, if at all possible. I know the E3 has a bass port, does that force the design to leak more sound outside than the Noire X? I have read in this thread that some find the Noire X works even on airplanes, does that also apply to the E3?

I've had almost all totl headphones ,and can say (from my experience) that the Noire X are a nearly perfect headphones for me

Bought mine.

Listened to Edition XS before, now selling them.
I also have TrueHear Nova.

What can I say - NOIRE X clearly sound better than Edition XS, especially the bass. But they are “cleaner” in the whole range, they are better at picking out all sounds. I won't say 3 times better as a price difference, but still very decent.
If we talk about TrueHear Nova - NOIRE X are certainly slightly more detailed imho. And the NOIRE X has a very surround sound, like the EDITION XS, while the Nova's sounds “inside the head”.

I listen to them on Topping DX9, I have the XLR version, 4.4 cable ordered from ali, waiting.

I have the same setup, DX9 and just got the Noire X. i went with a 4.4 and just ordered a custom XLR cable lol.

they sound great stock, have tried a few eq's and they sound even better.

am waiting for the oratory eq to use as a base.

looks like a wooting also, i have the 60he. was going to get the 80 but has spent too much modding this one.

Yeah =) 80he.
I have a va108m on cherry red (100%) and a Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed (65%).
The 100% is too much, don't like the numpad.
The 65% is almost perfect, but it's not very comfortable without the F keys =(

80% is perfect for me. And so yes, the wooting is very nice, customizable game profiles is also very good feature.

4.4 and just ordered a custom XLR cable lol.
Yeah, that's what I wanted, but the seller only had the XLR version in stock. =D
So I ordered the 4.4 balanced cable and decided to get the 3.5 stereo cable too just in case.

You load the Strawberry Diesel in there.
This makes the soundstage 4D ;-)
Аhahahahahaha. :D Got it, I thought it was some kind of portable DAC.
