Dont know if Im the only one but when I got the Aeons I loved the look of leather but found the strap to be very thin, stiff and not comfortable. I kept playing with the sliders non-stop trying to get a perfect fit and the cups would turn in weird angles because of it. I thought it would soften up with time, but it did not so I designed a replacement strap made out of polyurethane that is not only wider but also stretchy. Similar to how the high end Dan Clark models like Stealth and Expanse stretch to fit, this has some stretch to micro adjust instead of using the sliders, they are now tightened down to not slide around. I wanted to see if I am the only one with this issue or if others have had a similar problem with the leather strap.

Oh, nice! I haven't had a huge problem with comfort, but I would love something like that for breathability. It's also nice as a vegan "PU leather" type of option. Did you have that made somewhere, or do you just have the resources to do it yourself?

That looks awesome! How did you make it?

I have the AEON 2 Open backs and I find the leather strap pretty comfy and have no complaints, even with my shaved head. That said, I'd be very curious to try something like what you've made! There is always some room for improvement. :)

Thanks for the kind words! Im an IT guy but got into additive manufacturing by chance many years ago. Now it accounts for about half of my main gig. I mainly work with clients like car manufacturers that need stuff made in engineering grade polymers (abs, nylon, carbon fiber reinforced, TPU etc) so I have access to commercial equipment. Usually when Im between orders, I like to keep busy making small/cheap stuff like this for myself and for sale as having expensive equipment just stand there idle is very painful both emotionally and financially! LOL. Here is a similar strap I made for the HD600 series. Perhaps thats why I found the leather strap less than comfortable as I got used to the stretchy one on my HD650s.
