Really? My HE600 have a much more open sound than my Noire XO and previously owned Noire X. If I buy the Core they will sound more open than the Hifiman?
I feel like they really avoid placing sounds inside the head, the soundstage seems to extend pretty wide, but it's not very deep.

Received my pair today. Polarity is correct. Comfort is very good. Little heavier than I thought they would be, but the sound is spot on so far. They sound great!

Would have been nice to pay what my distributor did, which is $540USD. Receipt was in the box from the direct ship.

I just received my pair yesterday and I love them. Improvements on the Aeon 2 Noire are more natural tonal balance, especially the elimination of the sibilance I experienced with the Noire, and then the bass is more even and neutral, just what I wanted. These replace a pair of Sennheiser HD 480 Pro for me (which in turn had replaced said Aeon 2 Noire), which I felt had too much bass, and didn't sound as open/spacious.

These may replace Verum 2'w and Moondrop Para 2s. Most likely will be rotated as sometimes I use the standard receiver headphone jack which works well with those two cans but I hear you are a bit crippled in output with the Dan Clarks without a good external.
Thanks, I'm encouraged, have some Sen 650's and have moved on from them.

Worst thing about all this is that I very much like how these sound... I felt more boxed in using Hifiman HE600, and those were open, for crying out loud :< even compared to AKG K1000, Core doesn't feel like a closed pair of cans.
Bass is about perfect in terms of amount, and I can't complain about its quality.
Midrange is great, with forward vocals having proper timbre, exactly how I like it.
Treble isn't piercing at all despite being nice and clear.
Comfort is a cherry on top, no complaints there either.
All in all, I hope these QC issues can be definitively resolved.
Did you reach out to Dan? “EDIT: I believe your unit is SN 519, correct? Your unit's measurements are below, and you can see phase is correct. We have your measurements and your unit is in-phase. Still, contact me offline and we'll figure it out. :-)”

No, my unit is 748.
I'll probably send a PM soon then.
