This should show the filter response more clearly on a Topping D10s.

Zoom level is actually smaller than what RMAA used as default.

Just for contrast here is my 16 years old X-Fi XtremeMusic with a CS4382:

IIRC all these products don't have user selectable filters, though the chips themselves have different filters. Too bad I am not Julian Dunn though I have similar opinions as him. If people still think it is all marketing, it is really up to them.

Hmmm... maybe they are both using the bloody apodizing filter then, ripple spec +/-0.075 dB. FAIL.

Both DACs could do much better in this regard - the ES9038Q2M has a whole slew of attractive filter options to offer, from a traditional linear phase fast roll-off (+/-0.002 dB, 120 dB ultimate) over minimum phase fast roll-off (+/-0.005 dB, 100 dB, pre-echo no concern but group delay deviation possibly is) to brickwall (+/-0.015 dB, 100 dB starting at 0.5fs already).

This should be brought up in the D10s and Tone Board threads, as a firmware update may be feasible.

CS4382 (single speed) digital filter ripple should be about +/-0.008 dB according to datasheet graphs, with a 90 dB ultimate, so that's not even anything super-duper special.

Yes. Filter plots for CS4272/4392/4382 are pretty much the same, as well as the more aggressive noise shaping.

Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional (what a verbose name:facepalm:) is basically identical to XtremeMusic, but XtremeMusic only has 2MB RAM while the other one has 64MB, plus a 5.25" front panel. My plot is pretty similar to what RAA showed, even the idle tones at 30 and 36kHz.

Am I right to assume that F7 is the correct filter to chose?
