As part of my research into DACs, I have compiled this list of DACs or streamers supporting ARC or eARC. There is obviously a "continuum" of products, from the simplest ARC-audio-extractors to full-fledged home theater receivers. I have drawn the line at amplification, because this suits the use-case I am looking in to.

I have added links to ASR-reviews where I have found them, I might have missed some. Most support ARC, some support eARC.

DAC
ProductARC or eARCCEC Volume controlASR-test
Fosi ZD3ARCyestest
SMSL DL100ARCnotest
SMSL DO200 PROARCtest
SMSL DO100 ProARCno
FiiO K19ARC, also HDMI-in
Luxsin X9eARCtest
Eversolo DAC-Z10ARC
MiniDSP Flex HTeARC
MiniDSP Flex HTxeARC

It will be useful for lots of people.
Adding a column specifying "CEC volume control" support should be a good addition. (Fosi ZD3 is ok, SMSL DO100 pro an DL100 are not)

Good idea. I guess I need input from people actually testing this, previous discussions on the topic indicates that documentation is often lacking...

Bravo for the effort. I am now in the market trying to find a DAC with CEC volume control. (Now using Topping E50 with optical input from a Sony TV (with a SMSL DA9 Amp and KEF Q150s bookshelf)...but having two remote control is just a bit not very convenient....)

The Eversolo DAC-Z10 does support both ARC and eARC: https://dl.eversolo.com/dac/instruction/EVERSOLO-DAC-Z10-User-Manual.pdf, page 17.

I was also thinking of doing a list of usb dacs that are HiD compliant, such as media control functionality.

Just a simple question for a co fused old guy...if I use the hdmi to a denon which SINAID will I be getting , the dac (say fosi) or denons. Or does it do all the digital to analog and analog to digital

This is really not the thread for questions about Denon, but to give you a quick answer, it depends on several factors, for instance:
  • which denon?
  • do you use it as a pre-amp or an amplifier?
  • do you use any signal processing, such as room correction?
I would recommend that you look into the review index and search for your device, if you find it, the review will probably answer your questions. If not, you can ask in the review thread. If you can't find a review for your specific model, start a new thread.

HDMI-input is always digital, so there is atleast one digital-to-analog conversion. There is probably no analog-to-digital or any more d-to-a conversions, as that would make the device more complicated, but it is not really known how denon builds their devices so we cannot really know.

In general, denon makes surround receivers which are very complicated devices and they aren't really comparable to 2-channel DACs. As testing by Amir and others show, the dedicated DACs have much better measurements than surround receivers because of this.
