Yes, but please take into account that it was a turmoil debate and persuading for the unit to be sent for testing, which finally resulted in some members sending a lot of money to buy and send the unit to Amir, that the initiated action was not “for free” at all and might have had a kind of priority, then.

The people who paid "a lot of money" include me. If I can wait, so can you.

Stuff I just tested here have been here for months, literally months. When people loan me gear, it always has higher priority than what I purchase to test for my own curiosity.

Sure. The questionable conditions of that single person uncontrolled test would not be answered even after testing the unit, so from this point it does not matter if it fades away.

The results of Amir's testing will of course be of interest in general. Members shouldn't expect items people have sent in for testing to be pushed aside just to address this device... plus it's probably for the best emotions cool before proceeding further, so we can simply focus on the measurement data presented.

I am looking forward to a thorough test. I hope this will provide an answer to the ... interesting results that Josh got. No outcome of that test is going to change anything about my view on DACs: for practical purposes they are a solved engineering problem and I will not worry about that part of my playback chain.

Will be interesting for me how the ABX box will perform. Whether Josh did it right or wrong I don't care because for many people including myself DACs will not sound really different. And if there might be a very small difference. The sound of recordings differ much more.

@amirm any chance of testing the comparator soon? If it will be a while, I wonder if you would be willing to just make recordings of the relay clicks. If there are significant differences of the sound of the switching, that would be a problem for proper ABX right off the bat.

Why don't you pay the $1,300 and do the testing? Didn't see you volunteer for the cause. Just because this is your horse hobby, doesn't mean it is mine. I have to set my life and review properties the way I see fit. Not to satisfy your whim.
