DAC as a "preamp" (DO100 Pro?)

I'm looking to make use of my Rokit 7 G4 speakers in a living room setting. Sources would be AppleTV/TV, CD Player, Bluetooth. I think something like the DO100 Pro would do the trick, but they dont actually market it as such. Are there any gotcha's to using one this way, or other suggestions which might work better? I also looked at the Tpping E70 which specifically mentions Pre-amp function...but is twice the price.

The DO100 Pro has volume control built in and can be plugged straight into your Rokits.

This limitation of the DO100 Pro might be meaningful to you, especially in a multi-user household where not everyone understands how to control multiple connected components in the audio chain:

From https://www.amazon.com/ES9039Q2M-Balanced-Desktop-Bluetooth5-1-Support/dp/B0CZ8YZH65/
After the DO100 Pro's ARC is connected to a TV, the DAC does not support the TV's remote control to control the TV's volume, nor does it support synchronous power on and off.

Does that mean the DO100 Pro actually behaves exactly as described on Amazon?

@B-Flow
Since multiple devices are connected to the DO100 Pro, it would be a good idea to always control the volume using the DO100 Pro's remote control.
