Not performing well at lower volumes seems a deal breaker these days with IEMs being popular. Then again, some people love those high-draw headphones.

What is the function of the output button on the front? Seems like one of the labels is LO, which I would assume means line out? I wonder if some combination there would connect the analog to the line out. Seems like a strange omission.

I played with that 100 different ways but could not make it do that.

about this weird shape in the distortion curve:
No worries they become audible?
I have drawn the absolute level line to compare:
It loses like 20dB wrt to the absolute level at 200mw output 1/4 HP out.

Yes, not an omission on your part! I meant a strange omission on the part of the manufacturer. Still though, it’s nice to see another manufacturer’s hat in the ring of great measuring devices. It will be interesting to see the direction they go with future devices.

Thanks for testing!

Could this be worth shortlisting as a desktop partner for the new Dan Clark NOIRE XO and a Topping PA3s or is there better out there at a price below about 300?

Thank you so much for the measurement, Amir. And the product will debut at a highly acceptable price! (They will be participating in the Munich 2025 BTW.;))
This makes me think the price will be 200 to 300?

The weirdness is around just a few milliwatts. This is why I said it is good for medium to poor sensitivity headphones to avoid that.

No, the product positioning, feature set and performance is well above those price points.

The ES9039SPRO chip alone cost about 60 EUR in bulk (about 90 EUR for one).

I would expect something near 1000 EUR to be fair for the BOM.

Thanks Amir!

Great measurements (mostly, anyway) and cool industrial design. The company name seems to be a little derivative of German brand T+A (Theory+Application).

To me it looks like some non-brand stuff from AliExpress.

Definitely nothing special here. Add 100 € and get a RME ADI-2 DAC FS. I don't see why someone would buy this.
Yes I would probably get the RME instead. It can do a lot more.
