Cymax Purifi 1ET9040BA with Weiss OP2-BP Dual-Mono Power Amplifier

Have been pretty tolerant of individual opinion but it has its limits. Continued repeating of opinion does not make it a fact and is argumentative. Further posts have been deleted and offending member has been given some time to reflect.

Hope this helps!

You forget BAD, as in deteriorated.
How can you trust someone´s impressions, and make decisions based on that, if you don´t know how bad their hearing is?
Even worse when you see who does the reviews: OLD MEN.

The way this trust operates isn’t exactly logical.

Latest arrival for my friend. This is the best build by far. Simply stunning and executed so well.

Build looks super smooth. Can I ask why are there 4 Weiss op-amps on the amp? Are they run parallel etc?

Has anyone come across Chinese MAROON AUDIO amplifiers? I was already one step away from ordering a Cymax amplifier, but at the last moment I came across Taobao on MAROON AUDIO and now I'm thinking. The filling is similar to Cymax, but it has linear power supplies and the look is more to my liking..

Looking at the photos of the interior of this amplifier, it appears to be a more thoughtfully and carefully designed unit than the Cymex amps. The downside may be the lack of a 12V trigger.

Looks interesting. Can you post a link to the vendor?

The internal build and layout looks really nice and very professional. But having dual 9040BA monos in one chassis implies they will never meet their rated power spec of 1400W into 2 ohms, 0.1% THD = 2800W total with US power sockets. A single US power socket is rated for 1800W maximum with a 15A fuse or 2400W using a 20A fuse.

Dual 7040SA will almost reach their specs (950W into 2 ohms, 1% THD = 1900W) and of course dual 6525A will have no issues meeting their rated power specs in a dual mono box...

But european power sockets are a completely different story though with a maximum of 3,680W of power (230V, 16A)o_O! The poster is a ridiculously lucky bastard:rolleyes:!

Though good luck finding a Purifi amp ...they seem to show Hypex NCx500 amps

There is a trigger in the amplifier. In the upper-left corner, near the terminals for connecting the acoustics.

Here is a translation from Chinese via Google Translator, the characteristics of the amplifier:
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Maroon Audio's latest M9040 dual-channel A+D class HIFI power amplifier, based on Purifi's latest second-generation EIGENTAKT technology 1ET9040BA, the same model as Marantz MODEL 10

Amplification module

Fantastic THD+N (<0.00006% @ 100W, 42, 1kHz);

Module power (0.1% THD): 8Ω 375W, 4Ω 750W, 2Ω 1400W.

There are three versions of this M9040 HIFI amplifier:

1: Deluxe dual-channel M9040 Luxury

1: Each channel is powered independently (two HYPEX SMPS1200 high-quality audio dedicated switching power supplies imported from the Netherlands for two-channel power supply);

2: The full shielding design of the signal buffer processing part is realized;

3: The signal buffer processing part adopts 6-layer immersion gold PCB, 0.1%@15PPM precision wafer resistors and wima film capacitors and other fever materials;

4: Add two sets of linear power supplies (worth 2,000 yuan) for signal processing power supply, including Block transformer, Nichicon super penetration filter capacitor, TPS7A4700/3301 ultra-low noise LDO, etc.;

5: The key wires of the whole machine adopt the audiophile brand 3 square 6N OCC wire;

6: The speaker output terminal adopts German original WBT 0763 CU (valued at 900 yuan, in case of material shortage, it may be replaced with an equivalent model or brand terminal);

7: Touch to start, or connect an external 12v TRIGGER to start up with the preamplifier system (the rear panel includes trigger input and output dual ports);

8: Two signal input options, XLR balanced or RCA single-ended signal;

9: The buffer-level OPA uses 4 original Sparkos SS2590 discrete op amps (valued at 2,000 yuan);

10: Add additional filter capacitors KEMET (BHC) ALS30 4700UF*8 to the main power supply.

2: Supreme Edition Dual Channel M9040 Ultra

Based on the deluxe dual-channel M9040 Luxury

1: Upgrade the buffer-level OPA to 4 pieces of Weiss OP2-BP;

2: Upgrade brand graphene copper wire;

3: Upgrade the main filter capacitor to KEMET PEH169 3300UF*8;

There is also a three-channel version.:
_______________________________________________________
Three: Deluxe three-channel M9040-3 Luxury

Due to layout limitations, compared to the two-channel deluxe version M9040 Luxury, the three-channel eliminates the linear power supply and additional main power filter capacitor used for signal processing power supply. The rest of the configuration is the same as the two-channel deluxe version. It is a perfect match for the top three in the cinema, and it provides an immediate experience of a high-end cinema system with an overwhelming experience.

The price of the DELUXE version is $2300
The price of the SUPREME version is $3260
Three-channel version - $2850
These are prices inside China.

Let me strongly doubt about thermals...
One opamp per balanced leg is needed, 4 opamps is the minimum.

So far, measuring with my laser thermal scanner, temperature of copper shields are under 35 deg C (95F). Chassis is in the cabinet and rear temperature is between 32-36 deg C. Component temperature on the circuit board are 30-45 deg C. While the power supply shields are top covered, the ends are open so cross ventilation is ok. Input buffers have bottom and top slots in the chassis for vertical ventilation.
