I've searched the forum several different ways and I couldn't really find anything. Do we not have a thread/list of custom cable manufactures somewhere on the site?

To be clear I'm not talking about snake oil garbage, I'm talking about companies that uses industry standard cable and connectors to make custom length cables, cables with less common terminations, etc.

The only two companies I'm aware of is Pro Audio LA, & Blue Jeans Cable, but surely there are many more?

Markertek can supply most cables.

Redco

Performance audio

Worlds Best Cables on Amazon offers some good stuff with good components at reasonable prices.

LCSC makes custom cables. They charge you the connectors at their catalog price (very cheap) and in my opinion cable and labor are also quite cheap. They show you a draft for approval before they do it.
Only problem is the shipping cost and the fact that they don't collect VAT at origin if you are in EU. No minimum order.

You could start a cable manufacturers/suppliers thread. Like I did for EQ/PEQ. It's immensely useful and gets lotsa hits.

If we get a decent list started I will happily start a manufactures list thread. :D

I agree with Doodsky, once you have a list of parts and how to find them, it is not too complicated to assemble them. Unless you want to make digital cables, where then you need different special tools for tightening the cable and connector. But I would say that on the web you can find them of any length and with any type of connection, often even mixed

Just make your own....is World's Best Cables still around? Don't know if they do custom lengths, tho.

I've made my own cables before, but I've gone years between touching my soldering iron, and I'll admit I haven't always used the right type of solder either. Thus, I'll happily pay a little extra to have someone make custom cables for me, as I'm sure they will do a better job than me.

after a quick look i can say yes World's Best Cables is still around. for standard cables you get shunted off to amazon, for custom stuff you go through their website.,

I've made thousands of RCA cables out of MIT cable and terminations and I can easily say let somebody else do it for you. :D

I use Pine Tree Audio (via eBay) for power and speaker cables. For interconnects, I use Snake Oil Sound (snakeoilsound.com) cables. Both companies are made in USA and will manufacture custom cables to your design at very reasonable prices. First rate quality too!

For the list, what what's data do people want to see?

I was thinking
1) company name
2) website/url
3) location country/region/state

Not the MIT I'm thinking of I hope :)

It's so easy to just keep some stock on hand and make what you need when you need it without going shopping....your cables are probably just fine in any case, or are you going to torture them somehow with Festivus feats of strength or something?

Yes, that dubious one. I'm embarrassed now but back in the early 90s MIT actually had decent cables for ~$80 to $120 for quality stuff. It was Litz wound snake oil but the stuff worked and was quality built. Now it's snaky all the way. The cable could be purchased at the time in large spools and the RCA ends on Styrofoam flat packs. So ordered in some spools and ends and assembled nearly 2000 sets.

An acquaintance of mine used to work with him (Bruce Brisson), he designed a box for some of the glued in silly stuff....they sold it in bulk back then? Think the more silly stuff came later (than yours) tho.
