Hello, does anyone have any experience with the CSS Audio Torii P2 (or the P4) speaker kit? Looking for your impressions. I am looking at these for my budget 2 channel setup. Does it make sense to splurge for the CSS Audio 2TD-X on a system that cost less a thousand to setup?

I wouldn't. CSS remains quite incapable of engineering designs with a smooth transition in dispersion characteristics when the drivers are crossover.

I am relatively new at this. Can you explain this in more detail? And what it means?

We know from research into room acoustics and human hearing that speakers need to have a smooth trend in dispersion throughout the frequency range (putting aside the fact that the preferred trend would vary depending on room characteristics, personal preference and music choice, there is no dispute that whatever dispersion trend the speaker takes should be smooth). Which I'm sure sounds intuitive enough, science aside.

The issue is CSS adopts an antiquated driver and crossover configuration that is inherently incapable of that smooth trend we seek, likely due to limited measurement equipment, engineering limitations or ideological preferences.

Is there a tower kit you recommend that gets below 35 hz that would be appropriate for my modest system? I don't care for subwoofers so I am looking for a full range speaker.
