Like the title states. I have this crown. Never had a problem but I im making big changes right now and wonder if there is a better amp put there for this job
I wonder what real world watts Are from this thing. Is the dayton sa1000 worth a try or is the xls 2502 doing the subs are stereo integrity 15 inch. Im aiming to have 6 when the room is done
Other amps I have is anthem & starke sound.

For sub duty I don't think you can do better. I have 5 of them myself

Hi do either of you get hum from the sub with the gain raised about 1/4, with it being really noticable 1/2 and above?

Thanks. I got something going on with my setup. Can't get rid of this hum
How are you driving the amp? I had a miniDSP 2x4hd between my receiver and the XLS and had the hum. Changed configuration to drive amp directly from receiver and hum is gone.

Minidsp to amp. I'll bypass it to see if it changes it. Thanks

Although I kinda need the Minidsp for the diy sub hpf

Crown’s old amps are legendary, but now… not so much.

If you want a bullet proof amp for subwoofer duty, check out Lab Gruppen. They’re part of the TC conglomerate.

Lab Gruppen has amps up to 2,300 watts on four channels.

The only one Amirm has tested didn't measure that great

Yeah, that amp didn’t measure well at all.

There are a couple nits to pick, though, with the description of the amp:
• It was characterized as a touring amp. That’s not what it is. Look at the rear panel and you find phoenix connectors. Those aren’t what you find on a touring amp.

• This amp is meant for PA installations in malls, office buildings, etc. As such, durability and glitch-free operation are what this is built for. High fidelity isn’t a consideration.

For subwoofer duty, I’d be looking at their
IPX 2400:

Good performance, tons of power, digital inputs and some terrific DSP. Literally, everything you could want to power a passive sub.
