Cover me I'm going in! - Post your favorite song covers.

It had escaped my attention last year that Fire Engines had released their complete back catalogue (!) in pristine remastered versions which, it turns out, is a surprisingly worthwhile endeavour. Quite revelatory in fact. One of the best tracks revealed in all its gory glory is their cover of Heaven 17's Fascist Groove Thang. It's sad we still need this, but we do ...

My favorite House of the Rising Sun cover is by the great Gigi De Lana:

Missioned Souls, an incredibly talented family band from the Philippines (I posted their cover of Whole Lotta Love earlier in the thread), covers Gone Away by The Offspring:

Probably already posted, but if not...

The Harp Twins and the Volfgang Twins cover Paranoid by Black Sabbath:

The Harp Twins and the Volfgang Twins cover Paranoid by Black Sabbath:

Ouch.

Seen it before, and to me at least it is an abomination. Not a track that should ever be played by twinkly tinkly harps - no matter how manly the drums are :p

It's good though that there is room for all tastes in the world of music.

The K-pop girl group Blackpink is hugely popular worldwide; they have multiple youtube videos with over a billion views each. Their producer Teddy Park is a master of combining different genres. One of their songs, Shut Down, uses a part of the violin solo from the final movement of Paganini's 2nd violin concerto, known as La Campanella, as a theme throughout. So not exactly a cover, but here is a performance of La Campanella with violinist Daniel Lozakovich, followed by Blackpink performing Shut Down with Lozakovich on violin, at the Paris festival Le Gala des Pieces Jaunes in 2023:

Now that is more like it. :)

And here is a straightforward (but great!) cover of Deep Purple's Highway Star by the kids (ages 11 to 16) of the Philippines family band Missioned Souls, notable for their skillfull chops at such young ages:

A humble request: it would be nice if posters would give the name of the song, the original artist, and the cover artist. A few words about why the cover is interesting would be good too (I haven't always done this myself).

Also, youtube links if at all possible, please. Some of us don't use spotify.

AJ Lee and the Brothers Comatose covering Neil Young's "Harvest Moon"...nice harmonies, excellent performance by guitars, bass, mandolin...AJ Lee's voice is heavenly- perfect for this well-crafted song
