Constantly replacing gear.

Same here, unless something cool & nifty is introduced. With a house bursting at the seams with audio gear, I really should stop. And I have stopped, until maybe next week.
A surgeon once said to me, every bleeding stops with time ;)

But seriously: My early rather austere experience (Poland behind the "iron curtain") saved me from this. After the opening, I had other priorities. And now I'm old enough to wait and see what's good and what's just the next hype. That said, I've bought quite a bit of gear based on ASR tests.

isn’t it obvious?

Purchase gear (use one’s money as one wishes) at the expense of suffering children. That’s our choice?

The assumption that one is at the expense of the other, or that one’s individual choices are the cause of the other = classic false moral dilemma.

Typical example in animal rescue: “If you buy a pure bred from a breeder, you’re killing a dog in the shelter”.

There should be no place for those types of arguments in intelligence discourse.
Thank you for your response. Naturally, I don't agree with it.

Been fiddling again :)
