I'm afraid I have to disappoint you; none of these players were bad.Agreed. The point is: all players tested are ones that in their time were expensive enough to be out of reach of a lot of people.
I'd be a lot more interested if someone for a change would do these tests on vintage budget CD-players that peomple like me listened to when we were young and broke. Like the Sony CDP220, Kenwoood DP-SE7, Kenwood DP2040 or the Sony CDP190, my first ever transport. It was cheap, bulletproof, and at the time the best link in my questionable audio-chain.

Bad players, especially those with poor sound quality, were rather the exception, even among budget manufacturers. However, I can't say much about no-name devices, although I haven't heard anything bad about them so far.
For me, the most important factors were always loading times and any drive noises or ticking sounds coming directly from the device.
