Hi!
I would love to connect the Sony Soundbar HT-A9000 to my Sony KD99 AG9 to test the TV as a center speaker. The soundbar supports TV center channel and the Sony has the Center Channel In.
The problem is that the soundbar has a Jack 3.5mm TSR, and the TV has a connector for + and -

How should I connect the wires? My guess is that I should use T and S for + and R for -, but I'm not sure.
Anyone can help me?

best to play some test sounds (Mono/Hard-panned Left/Hard-panned Right) on the soundbar and see what comes out of the Aux jack using a cheap multimeter.

Then make a cable with the appropriate pinout.

If two Aux pins always output the same signal (shorted internally), then you can safely connect both to the Center in+.

Otherwise, please make sure that you do not short them as that may burn the soundbar Line out after prolonged use.

Also, it sounds like your soundbar is outputting Line whereas your TV expects a Speaker signal.
As a result, you may experience insufficient levels.

The soundbar manual says any TRS cable can be used so the black wire is ground (-) and one of the other two will be signal (+). Just keep your volumes down until you figure it out.

It looks like the soundbar is supporting "Acoustic Center Sync" using the S-CENTER OUT, but the TV AG9 is only supporting "TV center speaker mode" using the CENTER SPEAKER IN, which should be a speaker signal, as noted by @staticV3 .
So it seems that there is no way to use the output in the TV :(

JMO, but unless a center channel speaker is acoustically very similar to the others, you'll probably not like the result. TV speakers are pretty yucky. But experimenting can be fun!

I agree with you! I have a 7.1.2, so I was just curious to see how the Sony soundbar compares to my home theatre setup. Also, I was wondering if the TV could be used as the centre channel, assuming Sony is trying to integrate it with the soundbar.
Since I can’t connect it, I’ll give the soundbar a try on its own ;)
