Compact Class-D integrated amp to go with a (Technics) turntable?

Hi everybody!

I’m about to replace my discharged Sony PS-X60 turntable with a new model. It will probably be a Technics SL-1500C.
Congrats!
Besides I’m wondering if I could pair that new table with one of those new hot compact Class-D integrated amps popping up one after the other every month as it seems. Just to check out that new sort of gear as it would be something totally new for me.

Possible brands of choice seem to be Topping, Ampapa, Aiyima?
Can you remind me what's wrong with, or what you don't like about, your Denon AVR?

Except that very same X3100W which I believe has a pre-out ?
Dang! You’re right! Wasn’t aware of that.

It had started the habit to shut down into stand-by every time after just a short period of running in multi-channel mode. The only way I could find then to prevent the shut-downs was avoiding multi-channel mode altogether – which is fine with driving a turn table only.

OK – first findings regarding pairing a turntable with an AVR. Technics SL-1500C and Denon AVR-X3100W that is in my case.

• Maybe a good idea to initialize the AVR first, if it ran in any multi-channel mode before. Take your time then to »tell« it that from now on it has to deal with two loudspeakers only – not seven, eleven or what ever.

• Be prepared to find that the output volume from your speakers is not actually high.

• Don’t use both outputs of the Technics SL-1500C (Phono Out and Line OUT) simultaneously for connecting them to one amp. (Yes – that is written in the manual too ...)

• I re-ran an Audyssey measurement on the AVR, and after that I felt that listing to records with the AVR’s »Stereo« mode was much nicer than with »Direct« or »Pure Direct« mode.
