Compact Class-D integrated amp to go with a (Technics) turntable?

Besides – regarding the amps mentioned it seems that full analog signal stream also means no RC included, right?

RC as in Room Correction?

No for that the Phono signal needs to be digitized.

If you're interested in room correction (if so, good choice! Your records will sound better with it), then have a look at the WiiM Amp/Amp Pro/Amp Ultra.

Sidenote regarding analog "purism": Most LPs are mastered digitally anyway.

SMSL have multiple inexpensive Class D Amps with remote control and analog signal stream: PA40, AL400, AO10, AO100, DA-6, ...

They call it Electronic volume control, which is an analog volume and EQ IC that's digitally controlled by a microcontroller. Extremely common in older Receivers.

Just beware as SMSL Amps are really hit or miss regarding performance.

Pure Manual Scaffolding?
I mean, I am an Old Guy, so I'd be skeptical of any new-fangled Automatic Scaffolding... but, still...
I have No... Freaking... Idea... what that's all about.

Regarding those five mentioned S.M.S.L units: How can I verify for each of them that there’s a fully analog signal stream possible?

Look at the frequency response, specifically the high frequency roll-off.

If it rolls off natural-ish with no sudden cut-off, then it's full analog:

Also check at what frequency the treble response leaves the graph. In the case above the Amp extends to well over 150kHz, which you will not see with digitization.

Here's a digitized signal path in contrast:

Cheap way to get a remote: add in a Fosi preamp for under $100, has remote and tone controls that can be switched in or out of the signal path as desired, 3 inputs.

My »AI consultant« suggests Fosi P4 and Fosi ZA3.

I am still not convinced. It would mean one more possible source of unwanted sound modification where I actually just want a remote control. Besides: The ZA3 still has to be switched on/off per hand I guess.

But my main worries are that such a »desktop setup« might not produce enough punch after all. The competitor in my listening room would be my good old Denon PMA-1600NE. Used to its audio performance, will I be (deeply?) disappointed then with some 250-Euros Class-D solution in comparison?

Only you can say! Buy one you can return? It’s a cheap experiment for you… Especially so if you can live without a remote. If you are concerned about power/volume, spring for the 48v power brick.

Don’t laugh ...

I have a redundant Denon AVR-X3100W sleeping (most of the time) on top of my cupboard. And it has a remote control

Will be some fiddling around with its numerous pure/direct settings and maybe the missing earth/ground connector, but I’ll give it a try.

The Denon AVR will also offer a nice possibility to switch between the SL-1500C’s output from its internal phonostage and its phono signal going through my Pro-Ject Phono Box E, for listening comparison.

Just to argue with your Ai consultant :):
Although you asked initially for a class D integrated amp to try you might, as you already have something to use as a pre-amp, try a simple class D power amp rather than an integrated. Something like the above mentioned Fosi V3 mono amps or the 3e audio A7 stereo/mono amps are a clear step up from the Za3 and certainly won't disappoint compared to pretty much any amp available (note that it isn't guaranteed these amps will be audibly better or even distinguishable from the Za3 provided you are using the Za3 within its power limits and you have reasonably even impedance speakers). Both of these options are reviewed and tested in detail on this site if you are interested.

Such amplifiers can no longer compete with current, high-quality Class D amplifiers like the Mini 300.
Even excellent amplifiers based on the LM3886 IC, such as the Neurochrome, fall short.

No, I have no sort of stand-alone pre-amp.

Well, I just finished checking/preparing/connecting the fat X3100W and so far I am happy with that solution. (Well, the new turntable is still missing of course, but that is only a matter of two or three days.) I managed to put the X3100W into »Pure Direct« mode, with automatically dimmed down display

Besides, it’s just awful nice that you can control units of that kind via web browser interface:
