Coca Cola, Pepsi, 7UP, Canada Dry Ginger Ale, Cream Soda, Orange Crush and other tasty beverages. What's unique?

I am partial to a can of this with a kebab (although I have to have had a few pints to risk or want a kekab)

Drank this stuff in a Land Down-Under

Green River: Too intensely sweet to be more than an occasional treat, and even then, the 12-oz bottle is two servings for me. But it's a beloved flavor of my childhood. It was mostly displaced by 7-Up, Sprite and Slice, but those were all too syrupy and not citrus-y enough for me. Flavor reminds me of a lime Tootsie Pop.

And from a Vietnamese restaurant I used to frequent: Salty lemon soda. From what I could tell, it was crushed ice, soda water, simple syrup, and a crushed chunk of salt-preserved lemon. Not mixed, so as to keep flavors distinct. Super-simple to prepare the lemons, as you simply toss whole fruit into a big glass jar, along with a generous helping of salt. Cover, and set out in a sunny spot until they turn brown and become soft. The high salt and acid content prevents spoilage or fermentation.

Plus a whole raft of other chronic diseases.
I think I read a long time ago that chronic pop drinkers have reduced bone density. Not sure if this is fact or not.
I Googled the topic a bit and apparently in adolescents this can occur.>

Kwas chlebowy :)
A well known beverage in slavic cultures.

I have another suggestion - home-made Chinotto.

I was just about to post and just saw your post. My cousin grew up with Italians in Western Sydney(Bossley Park) very far from where I live, and when I worked with him in Leichardt another Italian dominated area where the below softdrink was accessible, he always used to drink Chinnoto., I was always fascinated from the softdrink.

Anyway, I never really liked the drink it but it was very unique and is worthy of a post.

I mainly drink rooiboos tea but my sugary drink of choice has to be this. It's slightly a sentimental thing, brings back memories of walking home from school with my mates in 1985. We were too busy drinking this stuff whilst doing Rambo impressions with our school ties around heads to notice the threat of nuclear armageddon.
