A couple of weeks ago ASR started prompting captchas for Cloudflare every time I enter. Many times during browsing and even while I am reading a review the last images are not being loaded and I have to refresh (with captcha) in order to finish reading. Needless to say this is annoying... Happens in all my devices, desktop or phone, wired internet or mobile signal. I am in Brazil.

Is there something you can do to relax the Cloudflare checks? Would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ugh, I have no access but there is mention of this issue here as well:

Not sure @amirm was contacted. Will let him now.

I am sorry about that. We have been under large scale Denial of Service attacks located in a handful of countries for the last month. I tried a number of focused filters but those only helped a little. The most effective method was turning on Cloudflare bot detection which you are seeing. Currently only 5% of requests from Brazil are valid. The rest are these Bots.

I was hoping that the Cloudflare would learn your behavior and not keep challenging you. I am sorry that it is not and keeps intervening.

Our server is quite powerful and could handle the load even in the worst case situation. I just didn't want to reward them with allowing the traffic through.

Let's let this run for a bit and see if the source of traffic subsides. I can then turn the filter back off and see what happens.

Oops. I just checked and noticed that the successful challenge only lasted 30 minutes by default! Sorry about that. :) I upped it significantly so you should not see the challenge often.

Don't see any sense in a DDOS other than kids playing ?
What should be the purpose?

@amirm If this is true you aren't alone. I'm seeing literally hundreds of badly behaved crawlers concurrently on our site starting around the same time period that it became a problem for ASR.
