This, and the countermeasures taken to avoid blow-up. That can range from simple fuses (or simple protection circuits with the amp shutting down) to elaborate current-sensing schemes, even combined with an exactly modeled amp behavior inside the amp (e.g. in some DSP) to dim down input signal so as to never max out the current that is available safely.Is it the behaviour of the output transistors operating out of the SOA?
Such enormous efforts only make sense for high reliability installs (think emergency paging systems) where keeping at least some signal alive at all cost is paramount.
