I never used to like Hindemith's music, although I felt that I should.
But I recently read a review in Fanfare of some choral music and thought I'd check it out now I am Spotified.
Wowzer - just glorious! :)

The bigger choral pieces - Apparebit & Mass - took my fancy rather than the smaller ones.

Which led me on to try this ...

Hmm, yeah, not bad at all!

It's curious how one's musical tastes evolve over time.

The "Night Wind" Sonata. Hamelin's performance lacks some of the passion and Russian soul of Kholodenko's, but Hyperion provides much better sound.

Nice piano music to match the mood of our beautiful, sunny yet windy day!

This is truly delightful - has soothed our souls for many years ... couldn't imagine it being done better.

This recording of Rakmaninov's 'Isle of the Dead' is goosebump material. His Symphonic Dances are good but the 'Isle' is simply breathtaking.

I like Bernstein most when he does his own tunes.
