Very "british" humor...

@Michael Fidler are you indeed considering phasing the MC Pro out? Will there be a new product introduced for low output MC cartridges? E.g. a "MC Pro II" with balanced inputs?
It's quite likely that I'll make a few more for the UK market in the new year, although it definitely needs to go to SMT for longer-term use.

XLR inputs would be good for single-ended cartridge connections, as you shield the cartridge return with the ground, instead of leaving it open to electrostatic coupling into the reference, as is the case with RCA exposed return shields.

The topology, with both MM and MC heads feeding into an intermediate equaliser stage, lends itself well to combining both MM and LOMC heads into a single design without the limitations of typical MC-head-to-MM-input designs.

Ahem... That'd be "humour".
BASED - It appears that I've made this one a bit too dry for global consumption, although it's certainly been worth it for the trolling.

I love British humor, but this one I missed..
Native-level dryness - only John in Australia and the boys in the UK caught on. The dryer the better, but it's something the Americans are highly blind to and liable to take very seriously; a perpetual source of amusement to a sadistic disposition!

Chapeaux Sir. My word for the day.

My problem was that it was too early in the morning when I dropped into the discussion, too sleepy to catch the dryness.

I did not think that a hat (in red [ish], of course) made much sense but couldn't get my mind off of that.
I was washing clothes at the time, so....
Hat Mademoiselle Chapeaux

I get it now. I'm so out of the loop...
Also, it's done wonders to troll the worst prospective nightmares, who I'd do anything not to accept payment from and demonstrated remarkable immunity to 'best of luck with your next choice' and other very gentle goodbyes out of my inbox for good. These types of exchanges represent 5% of LOMC queries, but 90% of them are using LOMC.

No, I'm afraid I can't accept conditions other than the ones explicitly listed on the website (for instance payment only after proof of shipping to a different country!), tell you/make a sale on the basis of what the SNR will be in your listening room, condone the use of the USA voltage power supply adaptor in Europe because it's rated for 4VA more, take responsibility for the hum problems you've already got in your setup prior to sale, or make you a version using the LM4562 or some other exotic IC all the while you berate me for finishing the project and tell me how much better your system is compared to my current user base! Most of this just from one person alone.

BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR NEXT CHOICE

The MC Pro was a remarkable accomplishment. Helped to facilitate a fresh dialogue about what we should expect (and should not) from MC performance. I certainly appreciated the engineering insights, even though I was not in the market for a new phonostage.

So I should make a new version?

Wow. The business person in me says it depends on how fast the first stock turned over - in other words, how was the market demand? I can certainly understand using all of your manufacturing capacity for MM phonos that turn over faster than the MC Pro.

The audiophile in me says, hell yes! The measured and subjective performance per reviews suggests that it was unique at its price point.

OK - I'll make a start on the layout ;)

It needs someone who's not me to sell it to masses. Maybe Fidler GPT LLM trained on a few articles + website description and thousands of previous e-mails would be a good idea

I regret not buying an MC Pro when I had the chance. Now I’ll have to keep a close eye on the next batch from @Michael Fidler ! It feels like waiting in line for tickets to a sold-out concert.
