It's not that long ago that the Sennheiser HD580 was considered to be as good as headphones got. I always liked that headphones were an island of sanity in the often dysfunctional world of hi-fi and find it sad that headphone makers are falling over themselves to pile into the sort of more expensive equals better audiophile mentality.
