Well, nobody said we could not discuss his recommendation…Just be grateful and shut up!
Yep, and not only that you can connect 4x (but all using different connectors) 32ohm headphones in parallel and drive all of them to max output level at the same time.Use case is, it has up to 4 sockets for 4 different headphones in case you want to conduct A/B/C/D tests or invite your 3 best friends all listening at the same time sitting around the Alto.
That stated reason for the recommendation was power. It is extremely strange to see a $4,000 distortion generator to be "recommended" on this platform. Maybe it has warm slam, dynamic timbre, textured imaging, and good decay without sibilance, who knows...
It seems like one of those Rotten Tomatoes ratings with 98% from the "critics" and 11% from the audience.
103dBV sensitivity high impedance headphones are well suited and safe to use with this amp.it would be silly to get this to drive 103dB sens HP for example, it's like asking for trouble.
I do mean the later, of course.103dBV sensitivity high impedance headphones are well suited and safe to use with this amp.
103dBmW efficiency headphones might not be a good idea/save to use.![]()
Yes, I'm sure Amir was pressured by Bloom Audio to make a recommendation so he could make content on his own time on a site that is almost certainly a net money sink. C'mon. This "recommendation" is the problem with places that take gifts (even loaners are gifts) to make content. It costs the company money to send out loaners - not just shipping but actual cost of debt or lack of interest on money. It leads to questions as to why the product is recommended.
When the product underperforms for ANY price but especially for its price it really looks sketchy.
From power point of view, this product would rank on top of any such ranking. There is nothing sketchy about that. And power is something I always favor. Nothing new about that either. When the product underperforms for ANY price but especially for its price it really looks sketchy.
I have so much stuff to test that I am in no need of more products loaners. This is why you are seeing much faster rate of reviews. I am trying to make a dent in my backlog. This "recommendation" is the problem with places that take gifts (even loaners are gifts) to make content.
I hear you but with anyone else I would just assume it was sponsored. Not here, but anywhere else.Yes, I'm sure Amir was pressured by Bloom Audio to make a recommendation so he could make content on his own time on a site that is almost certainly a net money sink. C'mon.
What is Amir supposed to do? It drives his hard-to-drive headphones effortlessly and sounds great, and he's supposed to conclude it sucks? It's not like he hid or glossed over the issues in the measurements. It's not the first time he's given a recommendation to something that had what appeared to be poor measurements but which he liked in the listening test (or vice versa). He got hate for those as well, even though they weren't loaned by a dealer or the manufacturer (to my recollection). But once again, it seems like people are telling Amir he's not allowed to recommend something even if his experience with it is good. And in this case, even get accused of bias because it was loaned by a dealer, as absurd as that is.I hear you but with anyone else I would just assume it was sponsored. Not here, but anywhere else.
Their DACs are very good. The rest are designed by others. The phono stage I tested from them was horrible.I thought Chord at least made clean-sounding gear, even if it’s too expensive. This is just sad.
