Anyone alive?
Anyone alive?
I'm alive and kicking too! reading the news snippets, checking my Amazon returns that are taking foreverrrr and getting ready to go out for awhile to stretch my legs and get some daylight and darkness too.Anyone alive?
Not me.Anyone alive?
I returned some cables to Amazon that were broken and they are saying they never received the cables even though I dropped them off at Whole Foods. I lost $50 on those cables. Now I don’t bother to return anything to them anymore unless I really have to. I get my news from DW the German news channel, on YouTube. I took a walk today.I'm alive and kicking too! reading the news snippets, checking my Amazon returns that are taking foreverrrr and getting ready to go out for awhile to stretch my legs and get some daylight and darkness too.
I’m gonna party like it’s 1999.Did I miss the end of the world? Again??
I returned the ELAC DB53 too, and moved the DBR62 to my office. The Dynaudio BM9S / BM5A MKII's are working fine in my bedroom, but I miss the extended treble of the DBR62's.I'm alive and well. After more listening with the Elac DB53, I have decided to return them. I've tried a few different bookshelf speakers in the last couple of years but none of them came close to my Dynaudio BM5 MKIIIs to me. I guess in my old age I've become an active speaker fan.
I did this again.I’m alive but I listened to music too loud again.
AI Overview
Temporary Threshold Shift (TTS) is a temporary decrease in hearing sensitivity caused by exposure to loud noise. It is a warning sign that your ears have been subjected to potentially damaging sound levels, and your hearing typically returns to normal within 24 hours to a week. However, repeated exposure to loud noise can cause this temporary shift to become permanent hearing damage.
Causes and symptoms
Recovery and prevention
- Cause:
Overexposure to loud sounds, such as concerts, machinery, or loud music, can fatigue the hair cells in the inner ear.- Symptoms:
You may experience a feeling of fullness in your ears, muffled hearing, or ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
Long-term risk
- Recovery:
The best way to recover from TTS is to give your ears a break from loud noises. Hearing sensitivity usually returns to normal in a short period.- Prevention:
- Reduce your exposure to loud noises by lowering the volume when listening to music.
- Wear hearing protection, such as earplugs or earmuffs, in loud environments.
- Take breaks from noisy environments to allow your ears to rest.
- Be mindful of unexpectedly loud events, like sirens or loud movies.
- Permanent damage: While the temporary shift itself is not permanent, frequent episodes of TTS can lead to permanent hearing damage over time because the hair cells in the cochlea can become damaged and die from repeated overstimulation
