Cheapest tower speaker with an on axis curve flatter than a Revel F35?

I've recently purchased a pair of Ascend Acoustic ELX towers and plan on comparing them to my Revel F36s and F226s just 'cuz I'm curious. My plan is to test them all WITH a sub. I know that's a controversial way to test speakers but I figure since that's how I listen then why not :)

Recently though, I've been thinking that since I'm testing with a sub then there are probably other even cheaper towers that would sound pretty great as well. The only speaker I know of that's even cheaper than the F36 AND has an equally flat on axis graph is the Revel F35.

Do you know of any other tower (not bookshelf) speakers with an on axis plot as flat as a Revel F35 AND cheaper than an F35 (which are $895 a pair at Crutchfield)?

The Revel isn't actually as flat as that - here's Amir's measured performance - but they're still very good. When originally reviewed here they were $800 EACH. $895 for a pair is a steal, IMO. I'm not aware of any floor-standing speaker under $1,000 a pair that's beating this.

That graph is from the original review with inaccurate bass response. The Spinorama site data is from the corrected response, posted here:

Cheapest? Used Infinity IL40s (like the 60s, less the subwoofer) or maybe Primus 360s. But I think you meant - new. So maybe the new Elac DF63? At 900 a pair the F35 is really hard to beat.

Agree that the F35 is a good value there. Even the LS60 is not as flat on axis. But don't over- prioritize on-axis for floorstanders. You don't usually sit very close to them so off axis matters a lot in practice.

The F35 is also good in that regard but if you keep looking for something cheaper you may end up with a better on-axis graph but worse sound.
