Cheapest amplifier with crossover that can output 300W?

Hello,

I'm planning to add a bass shaker (Dayton Audio BST-300EX) to my headphone audio setup, and need some recommendations on the cheapest way to properly power it as I have no clue what I am doing. Here is how I think it will work:

MacOS -> Topping DX1 ii -> Headphones (via. Headphone out)
-------------------------------> Power amplifier (via. RCA output/balanced out) -> Dayton Audio BST-300EX

Unfortunately, I cannot use any sort of software to do the crossover. What would be the most budget way to accomplish this? Higher power amps with built in crossover seem to cost a lot, is there a cheap device that I could put inbetween the DAC and Power amplifier that can handle the crossover? If this does exist, can it degrade the signal?

As for the power amp itself, I have no idea what the current 'meta' is, so all recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Many amps will cut off other audio when using headphones, too, let alone allow a crossover between the headphone output and the regular amp section. Don't know of gear that will accommodate you....

Thank you for the reply, I am a little confused so please bear with me. How would the power amp cut off audio?

I'm going to write what I think is happening and someone can correct me lol:
The Topping DX1 ii can output both from its headphone jack and RCA at the same time, so I'd be getting the full signal through the headphone jack, then the same signal will be also output from the RCA, where it will reach the power amplifier and have a low pass filter applied, and then be output at the bass shaker.

What do you consider costing a-lot?
Something like a Crown XLS1002 should fill your needs, they're around $500 new but you should be able to find one used for half that or less.
Topping DX1 Rca output to Crown input, set Crown crossover to remove all but the bass to shaker ?

I like Sal's suggestion (and do run my tactile transducer via such a Crown amp altho I don't use the crossover feature in the Crown). Many integrated amps do cut off audio to the speakers when headphones are plugged in, tho, and now see your amp is just a pre-amp/headphone unit only. I was more thinking about an integrated/headphone amp that would do what you want rather than add another, too. A minidsp could also provide a low pass (which isn't a crossover particularly, just part of a crossover).

Thank you for the reply, 500$ is way over budget for me haha. I was hoping for something under £100.

I am going to be using the bass shaker on an office chair, so I doubt I'll need to hit the full 300W. I was thinking a TPA3255-based amp (Nobusound G2 Pro, Fosi Audio M03 etc.) with a 48V/10A power supply, it would cost me around £90; but I was wondering if anyone had better ideas.

I take it you only need one channel, so find a 150w amp you can bridge. Whats the min impedance of the shaker?

Look on Ali for TPA3255 based Mono.

You won't get high SQ but you don't need that

nor much more than 150 real Wrms

To get maximum power 48V 10A psu is best, but by itself that's over $80 these days

5A is OK, usually only adds $15-20 to tge "bare amp" option.

With a shaker like that you don't need a full crossover, you want full range going to your phones.

In fact I bet full range to the shaker won't hurt anything

a LPF would IMO add very little SPL

An amp with an attenuator will let you "balance" the shaker "volume", no preamp needed.
