Cerwin vega

I saw those measurements as well. Looks like they actually did a good job with the waveguide design. I kind of like the XLS-215 since its more cohesive. That classic "look" with the surrounds and logo, but in a modern and serious looking package. Id assume it has similar measurements to the earlier CLS-215.

I didn't even know this brand exist! and seems like in my memory never saw another brand having an ! in their brand name;)

I had a few 12 and 15" examples. Not bad out of the box, better with real crossovers, better L-Pads and insulation. I moved on to full prosound devices.

There's an old saying about lipstick on a pig. The bass drivers weren't bad for what they were, but...

They sold CV in appliance stores back in the day and were impressive looking for sure

old old name

speakers that look terrible and are usually owned by people who want to annoy the neighbours... several streets away

i just checked out their website and they seem to be the same tasteless "design language" and it looks like MAX VOLUME via excellent sensitivty over every other criteria

i mean $169 a pair speakers... they sound like the embodiment of what I would often call one of my favorite brands...

JBL = junk but loud

cerwin vega looks like they're truly embraced that ethos

Something about a 15" woofer, gotta admit in a cab a couple 15's in a box can blow your hair back. Literally.

Had a pair of these years ago first real speaker system on a Sony two channel stereo amplifier

There's a definite place in this world for party speakers.

there certainly is

but that market place has been dominated by the likes of..> JBL!

their active partybox line seems to be popular.. enough so i see people buy two and use them in BT stereo mode

also has lots of flashing lights, and karaoke etc.

The only CV’s I ever owned we’re 18” bass bins. They had a neat label on them “Loud is beautiful if it’s clean”.

I retailed Cerwin Vega for a couple of years. It sold well to the intended customers it was designed for. Loud and Proud! :D The D9 sold very well for a ~$1200 speaker of the day.
Frequency Response29Hz-20kHz
Power Handling (RMS/Peak)350 watts
Sensitivity (1W/1M)101 dB
Nominal Impedance (ohms)

Oddly enough, the only JBLs I'm familiar with lately are the K2 S9900s. I doubt those are what you're referring to. I have also heard the old studio monitors that Keele designed with the infamous "butt cheek" horn, the 4425. I'm afraid my party-hearty cred is lacking.

Those are house-speakers for sure. Exactly what Vanilla Ice was talking about when he said:
Now that the party is jumping
With the bass kicked in, the Vegas are pumpin'
While playing someone else's beat...

Red surrounds???What kind of criminal thought that?

Don't mind me,I even dislike some fade black anodize and some red-ish silver shades,so...
The little I heard them, you weren't missing anything. Nice bass, I guess.
