I enjoyed Mr. Kilmer in John Dahl's 'neo-noir' film for HBO entitled Kill Me Again (1989):

A behind the scenes Hollywood hero has passed.

Greg Cannom (1951 –9 May 2025) was an American special make-up effects artist.

Cannom was best known for his work on the films Hook (1991), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), The Mask (1994), Titanic (1997), Bicentennial Man (1999), Hannibal (2001), The Passion of the Christ (2004), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), and Vice (2018). He won 4 Oscars for make-up (Dracula, Doubtfire, Button, Vice), with 6 more nominations and then was awarded a special Oscar for technical achievements. He also earned 4 Emmy and 4 BAFTA nominations. (Wikipedia).

What a career! RIP to a true magician.

Another behind-the-scenes Hollywood hero has passed.

Rosanna Norton (née White; October 1, 1944 – May 7, 2025) was an American costume designer.

She was best known for her work on Tron (1982), for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design. She was also known for her work on films such as Phantom of the Paradise (1974), Carrie (1976), Airplane! (1980), Innerspace (1987), Casper (1995), and Detroit Rock City (1999). (Wikipedia)

RIP to a true magician who helped make some movies truly iconic! Below are original costumes from Tron. I saw Tron in a huge curved-screen theater in its original release, and I was simply blown-away at the time. BTW, Tron was disqualified for special effects Oscar consideration because computer animation was deemed "cheating."

Andy Rourke, bass player for THE SMITHS died today 20 May 2025. Not only was he a gifted musician, from all the interviews I read, just a nice, down to earth guy. May he rest in peace.

Didn't know about that yet, quite a shame and loss of talent, RIP. :(
