Celebrity RIP Thread

As a young boy, I grew up listening to whatever my parents were into. My Mom loves Roberta Flack, and I have a deep appreciation for both of them.

Roberta's singing still sounds so fresh to me. It is the music of when I was going to college and early stages of hi-fi ownership. Big miss. RIP.
Listening with Garrard zero turn, Dynaco kit preamp and power amp with Dynaco A50's. Poor college student's audiophile system. Kits required a lot of soldering. Ordered by mail, wait for check to clear and at the door in 4 to 6 weeks.

I remember when, "Killing me softly" came out, and I hated it. Some years ago, maybe 30 I heard the song for the first time in forever, and thought, wow that's a great song, she was great singer.

I do hope Roberta went "softly"... RIP. :(

This one is rather sad... as too young, only 39.

RIP Michelle Trachtenberg.
:(

The sources told ABC News the actress recently underwent a liver transplant and may have been experiencing complications. Trachtenberg is believed to have died of natural causes and no foul play is suspected.

The day get's worse on this front...

RIP Gene Hackman, you gave me many years of great movies and acting, thank you. :(

The story around this is a bit unusual actually;
Police in Santa Fe revealed the star was found dead alongside his wife Betsy Arakawa, and dog.
Legendary actor, two-time Oscar winner and author Gene Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, were found dead Wednesday afternoon in their home in the Santa Fe Summit community northeast of the city.
Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed just after midnight Thursday the couple had died, along with their dog.
Mendoza said in an interview Wednesday evening there was no immediate indication of foul play. He did not provide a cause of death or say when the couple might have died.

Damn, the conversation is one of my favourite films. Time leaves no one behind.

What a prolific actor .

Recent hunger benefit with Steve Miller in studio about 2020, in his late 70s he sounded very good

He had a Get Together Foundation which contributed a rendition of the piece with many musicians to a Covid telethon in 2021. His YouTube channl was active until 8 months ago.
