Celebrity RIP Thread

Born in Surrey in 1937, Flick had previously performed with the composer John Barry in the John Barry Seven, when Barry was brought in to rearrange Monty Norman’s theme for Dr No, the first James Bond film.

The theme song was recorded in 1962; Flick played the famous riff on a 1939 English Clifford Essex Paragon Deluxe guitar plugged into a Fender Vibrolux amplifier, which added a “heavy sound”. He was paid a one-off fee of £6.

Before the last King Crimson tour Robert Fripp said 'if you would like to see King Crimson, I strongly recommend you do it now'. I did thankfully. Carpe Diem and all that.

I became interested in Indian classical music as a result of the George Harrison, I think 1972. In the early 1980s a roommate produced an Indian concert series, which continues, with musicians from India. I've seen him over many years, including his Shatki project.

Once saw Rocky hit a 473 foot home run in old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. It hit at the foot of the Bleacher Wall. No one ever hit one into the Bleachers which were 500 ft dead center, but Rocky came close that night. Rocky hit most of his home runs and had most of his best years for the Cleveland Guardians (nee Indians).
