HI,

I'm looking at the Teac PD-301-X (https://teacusa.com/products/pd-301-x-cd-player-fm-tuner) but can't find any real information about it. There are a few reviews here and there but those all seem to be parrots of Teac's marketing.

Does anyone own one or has used it? Better yet, has anyone measured it? How does it sound? What's the build quality like? Any idea how it performs compared to the Denon DCD-900 or the Yamaha CD-S303,etc. I know those are different price classes but I'm trying to find something that will last and whose specs exceed the medium. On paper, jitter, DAC, noise, etc. were all solved decades ago but it seems that implementation varies considerably. This is made even more clear by @NTTY 's amazing reviews.

So if anyone has any experience about the Teac I'd be really interested to hear about it.

Thanks.

I have one on my desk that I feed to an SMSL RAW MDA1. It's not bad, feels hefty for its size but the screen looks crappy and the buttons look/feel a bit cheap. Works fine, FM radio isn't top tier but functional, haven't tried the USB input.

Happy to answer any specific questions you have.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Is it reasonably quick with responding to button presses and eject functions, etc.? I have a Yamaha universal player and the thing is horrendously slow. Most of the time I'm not sure if it took the command despite pressing the button because it takes so long. Back in the day I had a run-of-the-mill Sony and it was way faster. I miss that.
