Sadly, during our Cardio visit last week, the Cardiologist said it was time to make final arrangements for our Little Orange Friend.
In just under 4 weeks since his previous draining, he needed to have his abdominal fluid drained again. This time 800ml! But with the continued rapid accumulation of abdominal fluid is also fluid in is lungs which she does not see tapping as a worthwhile risk. That, and due to the rapid fluid accumulation his abdomen, we also have to push the diuretic slightly more which previously had dealt a blow to his kidneys.
During the next week or two, hopefully before is quality of living turns too far, we will need to part with dear Marmalade.
My sweet Luna died last week at 16 years. Sweet girl, I miss her.
It has been around 2yr9mos since we began his Cardiology care. He has outdone any and all metric of longevity. The Cardiologist said at his 2yr anniversary, back on Valentine’s Day, that she wouldn’t offer a prognosis as he had outstripped a veterinary study at that point and anything was possible.I am very sorry and sad to hear that.
I don't really know what else to say except to say that I hope you are able to enjoy the remaining time you have with him.
It looks like Jason is teaching you how to relax![]()
Haha, I assume you meant "stress-free" or "stressless" and not "stressful".
Our 2 kitties aren't cuddlers (with their very long fur they don't like to sleep on anything warm usually), but they help to reduce a lot of stress that arises from having a 12 year old son.
