Cat News?

do the cats play twister ? put some food treats on the coloured spots , keep the cats hydrated humidity levels lousy in summertime , do the cats think the speaker stands are part of the cat climbing tree ?

Indeed. They have a ton of clean fresh water everyday, and luckily they are great drinkers (maybe having a reverse osmosis filter helps :-D).

None of the cats for some reason has made it to the top of the speakers (that I know of). Kitchen counter is a different story, I lost that battle years ago with Boli (the Bristish Shorthair).

They leave the speakers alone, always have. :-) Trust me, they are super spoiled, I adore them. And yes, they have a water fountain with filters etc etc (2 of them).

One of the white kittens from last year, really settled in at the workshop office.

2yrs and 5mos of cardiology care for our little friend Marmelade. Still prowling like the amazing beast he is. Had his 10th Birthday back in April.

Dunno if @BDWoody is still lurking... (miss you) ...thought of you and some of our conversations about cardiomyopathy.

This little guy is now surfing the waves with a higher dose of Xarelto (anticoagulant) to fight the clotting in his heart and got bumped up to Torsemide (diuretic) to help manage fluid build up. Kidney values are holding against that onslaught.

"Oscar was an all-black cat owned by Kate Allan and Mike Nolan who lived on the Channel Island of Jersey. In 2009 Oscar had both hind paws severed by a combine harvester; he would then undergo a pioneering operation to add prosthetic feet. The treatment has since been considered for use with humans. A book about Oscar's story, Oscar the Bionic Cat was published in 2013. Oscar passed away in July of 2025 at the age of 18." (Wikipedia)

Oscar really was a medical marvel. The Wikipedia article explains they went through several iterations to get the prosthetics correct. RIP to a cool cat.

Our little friend, one of our four mighty feline beasts, had to be euthanized this morning. I found her camped in her “apartment” inside a berm of willow and brambles after two days out, responsive to me calling for her brother. She was unable to walk but called out.

The Lady and I were able to extricate her and get her to the vet. They discovered a mass in her liver and signs of sepsis.

She was 11 yrs old.

AKA: Princessa, Poppalina, Pop-Pop, Pop Star, Pop Rocks, Popperoni and Nemesister (Poppy and her little sister Sparq didn’t always get along).

An absolute sweety who wasn’t a big fan of being held, though she did enjoy hanging out near us when she wasn’t living out her feral birth rite. More than anything, she loved being outdoors and roaming free and has been known to take a few 2-3 day walkabouts (more often than we approved of!) per year.
