First time poster! Any Maine Coon owners or those interested in them? May I introduce Maggie (B&W) and Dora (Blue Tabby). We got Dora when Maggie had just turned two and to our surprise, they were firm friends after just one week. Happy to answer any questions for those considering this breed.

I promise to post more about my audio setup very soon but for now please enjoy a few pictures of the cats!
We had a Maine Coon that died last September at 3 years old. In November we picked up a brother/ sister combo, and their first birthday is in a few weeks.

Thanks! The girl loves to play fetch, but her brother started crowding her our a couple weeks ago. She brings me a spring, and when I toss it down the stairs or across the kitchen he comes running and starts playing with it. Maya loves trotting up with the spring after retrieving; her brother rarely retrieves it -- he drives her away and then leaves the spring. He has displaced her play time in the big fabric tunnel, too. I hope he gets over his jealousy soon, as it's really taking a toll on her.

I’m interested to hear this behaviour, as the youngest (blue) cat does the same, playtime has to be all about her, regardless. The B&W cat likes to play especially fetch, but on her own terms and is a little less forward (quite shy). By the time she has decided she wants to play, the ball, sprint or toy has either been crowded or picked up by the other!! Hopefully it’s an age thing in your case, BlackTalon. Appreciate it sounds simple but we try to simulate the shy one quietly with a bird wand out of the way of the other. Appreciate it sounds like stating the obvious but we hope that it gives the impression she’s not forgotten about!

yesterday july 3rd due to hot weather and opening bedroom window a little wider for the air conditioner extractor tube outside the window , i didn't think , Melanie would have slipped though the window gap onto the outside widow ledge , i heard a sound looked and shocked ! she tried to walk backwards and suddenly lost her footing slipped and fell ! i was shocked ! panicked !
i heard her land on a bush the fall must have been 16 feet
i dressed fast grabs keys out the door down the stairs in less than 60 seconds , she was walking around below in the corner next to the building , the outdoors neighbourhood cat , Stick was wondering around , had i not got down the stairs fast enough Stick and Melanie may started hissing with her running off in any direction ?
no of course i don't have video or pictures , there is stuff in the way of the window so even if i tried to reach out grab her ,
well she used one of her 1 lives , 8 left and i don't intend this to happen or be repeated again , blame is on the heatwave , 2nd blame is myself , Bear wouldn't have done that , Melaine is too young and curious and very lucky girl that no injuries , if that was myself or anyone else falling 16 feet , i'd say we'd be in A&E down the hospital , she is lucky she landed on the bush that must have slowed the fall down , and cats usually good at landing on their feet , she is , lucky to still be with me , poor girl
