What makes them ‘killer’ poor wiring?
At £6k a pair are they objectively better than other ( properly engineered) Class-D iterations?

He meant "killer" in the good sense of the word (I think) -- not in the AC-DC, series-string, transformerless power supply radio or amplifier sense of the word. ;)

and Ralph Karsten (@atmasphere) says his Class D amps are the bee's knees. I have no reason to doubt him. :)

Yeah, I mentioned it on 28Apr in one of ASR's other Carver threads. It seemed a little "too soon" to put it in this one, you know? ;)

It would be nice to see Bob Carver and Co address the output power issue. If it's truly 15W, then the advertising material should be changed - at the very least.
About 50 years ago during the audio industry power brouhaha, Paul W Klipsch distributed little yellow buttons that said simply “bullshit” (I have one)

I never heard one of these Crimson amplifiers
But they are rated so highly my expectation bias is off the charts
They can be bought for reasonable money on auction zitez

Amir measured 74W (peak music power) b.t.w. which is more relevant than continuous power rating when listening to music.
I'm sure 'tube sound lovers' will love its 'sound.'

Actually, they are dry as a bone, and everyone I know has said (something close to) the same thing. They look cute, but subjectively sound bad. Everyone I know who bought or borrowed one either sold it or gave it back to the owner.

The one saving grace is that they are very easy on valves. The power valve and the way they are designed last a long, long time. BUT it could be because no one turns them on very much. LOL :)

As a lover of most things valve, this is not on any list I know of, except the price is in the tank, and no one who does any research on them buys one.

BTW, The Carvers 350 sounds very similar, just louder. They, too, are very easy on valve wear. AND they are impressive to look at if you're a valve enthusiast like me.
Just like old what's her name, "Looks ain't everything".

Regards

I read a story that the Chevy Nova failed to sell well when it was introduced in South America because “no va” in Spanish means “it doesn’t go.”

The significant complaints about the amplifier here when this was the topic that was activewere not about whether people like it or not. That is irrelevant here. It was about the serious misrepresentation of power and the heinous safety concerns in its design. FFS!
