As a changing of carpets was scheduled for today I took the chance to do couple of quick measurements to see what actual changes.
As sofas, etc were moved and stuff were all over the place I put a steady mic at about a meter (by eye) and at about the acoustic center and voilà:
Floor bounce (at 3.6ms) difference is about 4-5dB less with the carpet by eye.
..and here's what happens at the most critical range.
As you suspect, NO change at FR what so ever, nothing drastic at least so I'll spare you this chart.
(Carpet is silk-wool, thick one, right on the tiles, before summer I'll repeat that with thiner summer carpet on top of the acoustic one, no carpet here is just not happening, I'll better bring a chainsaw to listen to)
