I plan to buy the Wiim Ultra very soon (next week or so). I have a few sources and a couple of amps I want to support. Here is how I hope I can integrate the Wiim Ultra into my current equipment.
Can the Wiim Actually support this?

First Sources. Can the Wiim Ultra switch between (and does it support inputs for) the following:
1. Source 1: Wifi Streaming services. Yes, This is the whole point of this systems right. Amazon Music, Apple, etc Source Number 1
2. Source 2: Music Library on Network storage? I have most of my old CD collection converted to MP3 (or some format). I need to be able to browse and play this collection. What input is used here? The USB?
3. Phone Input. Not too high end : but a run of the mill, decent turntable to play the static collection of records I have. Will not be growing the collection or look for Hi end turntable. Phono Input right?
4. Older NAD 515 CD transport: This has coax out I will run to an SMSL SU-1 DAC then Line out to:... Would I use the Line In RCA on the Wiim for this?
5. TV: This I don't know if I can use BOTH Output from Music App out of TV to Wiim to play music AND out from Wiim to TV to Display what's playing now album art on the TV. This is the fun mystery or disappointment part of the puzzle. i kind of like not knowing how this will work but I hope I am happy with the results!!!
Will these sources be supported?

I plan to find a way to drive 1 pair of DynAudio Audience 52's and a pair of Klipsch Kg3.2 Floor Standing Speakers
The Output of the Wiim will go to an Old Marantz 1122dc Integrated amp. I will take a line out for the Pre Out of the Marantz to feed an NAD 2400 THX Amplifier also.
The Marantz will drive the Audience 52 and...
the NAD will drive the Klipsch Kg3.2 pair.

Other option is to send the CD and Phono directly to the Marantz Phono input and and say Tuner input. Then switch from the Marantz for those but then I have half managed here and the other half managed there. I don't know. Any thoughts?

1) Streaming services and local storage (DNLA etc), including your phone, would be over the network protocol and using the app would be your guide to your library.

2) see above

3) yes there is a phono input for both MM and MC cartridges

4)why use a separate DAC instead of the WiiM from the NAD coax output?

5) from the TV you can use the HDMI ARC or toslink digital connection

Are you planning on driving both pairs of speakers at the same time? Personally it sounds like you're trying to over complicate your setup. I would keep as few components as possible to achieve your goal.

1 & 2) Thank You
3) Thanx
4) For the CD player, I don't see a coax In on the Wiim Ultra. The NAD does not have Optical out. So I either have to Line Level the NAD to the Wiim using the Older 1990's NAD DAC (Meh) or convert the coax to Optical then send digital to Wiim. So, NAD CD Transport via coax to => Optical converter (coax to Opt) to => Wiim Optical IN for DAC conversion to analog. I will probably try this inexpensive path just to compare the Wiim DAC to the SMSL SU-1 DAC.
5) I don't know what to expect from the HDMI ARC connection. Can I show the Now Playing Album Art on a connected TV? Can TV send to Wiim Apple Music feeds, etc.

"Am I planning on driving both pairs of speakers at once". No, not initially. I'm a bit of a purist. So enjoying amp and speaker "pair" combinations is what I am after mostly. It might be fun to see what both pair sound like but It hurts my heart to stress my systems in any way.

You're right, it's coax out only, sorry. As far as album art on your display, any app you're using from the TV will display the pertinent information.

As for your personal library on a pc or Mac, unless you go through your display (TV) first (the display being the host) the album art etc will be on your phone or tablet depending on which service you're using. Using a server like plex, serviio, etc. on/to your TV to recall your personal libraries will give you all your album art if that's something you have to have.

I would definitely not full with any converters at first as well just to keep it simple to make sure you're happy. You're on your way and at this price point, the WiiM products are hard to beat. Enjoy!

Just to confirm as I'm doing some homework.
The Wiim ultra is without amp so ideal for active speaker set up and allow a phono stage?

Correct, the WiiM Ultra does not have an amplifier so it is ideal for an active speaker setup. The Ultra has a phono input so one can connect a turntable to the Ultra , but one should make sure that your phono cartridge output is compatible (sufficient output voltage) with the Ultra.

On 5, ARC is used to send sound from the TV to the WiiM. When ARC is used with the WiiM, each TV app will send its audio to the WiiM through the ARC connection. As stated above, the TV app will display on the TV.

When the audio signal is managed through the WiiM Home app, generally you won't see Now Playing art on the TV. However, WiiM now has a WiiM Home TV app for Fire TV. If your TV is running Fire TV OS, the app WiiM Home TV app for Fire TV should display What's playing information on the TV.

Ah ok. Cartridge wise I'll have to check as likely going to change. Still have the original shell but the cartridge is an oddity as I recall which will be updated anyways.
TV is LG so not fire but I'm not overly concerned, I am aware the TV speakers remain engage ie can't by pass or mute, it'll only be used to enhance on occasion.
Thanks
