My idea of the Genelec 7350 smart is to be able to use GLM to mute the subs, but I don't know if this is possible.

I have Genelec 8030c, one day, I would like to upgrade to SAM version, therefore, it would make sense to get SAM sub

I know GLM won't work on 8030c, but you can connect 8030c to the 7350A, and that to GLM

Otherwise, I would just get another brand sub with a remote control like this one, specially since Genelec everything is so damn expensive

This might be possible. You mean via the app? GLM doesn't have a remote.

That won't connect the 8030c to GLM. Sorry. The 8030c needs an Ethernet for GLM. 8330a has that functionality.

As much as I like GLM and genelec subs, it sounds like you should get something else that fits the need for remote. You'll want some DSP, maybe Wiim.

Yes, but it's not recommended. The 7350 doesn't have any output filters, so you would have to use the 8030's dip switches to avoid frequency overlap. This also means you'd have to adjust the dip switches every time you bypass the sub.

Other than that, your plan seems solid. You should just get the 7360 instead of the 7350.

Way too expensive lol

Genelec is crazy

I will probably just keep my 8030c and get some $500-700 sub with a remote like the one i posted

Consider used. Genelec subs are tanks.

OP, I had a pair of 8030C for a couple of years (moved up to 8040B when a used pair became available). At first, had a Martin Logan 800X sub with the 8030C, which is a pretty nice comination. Especially liked the cell phone app for the sub, and also the ARC Genesis software (with optional mic) for room setup. When I got a pair of 8330A and two 7350A subs and GLM, I only needed one sub at the time. I connected to the analog inputs on the second sub, which allows GLM calibration of the sub, and passes uprocessed signal from analog outs on sub to the 8030C. This works well, but at prices for new Genelec sub and GLM Kit is a pretty expensive way to go.

I have similar thoughts, but unfortunately there is no other option with genelec if you have 8030c. Maybe 7050c with third party room correction software. I wish genelec would do something like what IK did with iloud sub...

What do you thing about the new Iloud sub from IK? You can do room correction and speaker allignment with any speakers with their ARC software, and then it is stored inside the sub's DSP. Would it be a viable option sonically, compared to 7050c?

New IK sub would be one of the options as long as the statements about its room calibration part are accurate.
The other option would be to use some non Genelec sub and Dirac to integrate the sub and do the room correction.
For that, you would need Dirac compatible host. Second hand Node 130 (2021) comes to mind as one of the cheaper options.
