Oh that's unfortunate, for I suggest that all of us get LEDed as much as possible. And to also have as many RL pressings as possible. I know that The Band's brown album is, I got it and the bass on there is brilliant. Forgot I have Physical Graffiti on cassette, but it doesn't sound so good so I put it away.

With other relatives (graduations, weddings, , helping them (because my mother says to and wants to participate) move to their new schools for university, etc I am rarely on the computer more than a few minutes & when I do have time for myself: my intent is to relax & listen to what I have & do ONLY that which involves RELAXING.

Listening to the original, there's a heck pof a lot of edits in it not always audible on the vinyl copies available in the UK... So great to hear it all over again - live too
Did a quick cartridge comparison this afternoon (trying our a different new-to-me preamp phono stage). Interesting that the old V15 III elliptical still sounds more 'right' in this digital age than many other better-reviewed pickups which follwed shortly after (I still kick meself in not getting the HE stylus for it when it was available - we never saw the MR here I believe).
As for Rumours, I find it rather dull sounding (the songs are not in the slightest), although Dreams (I think it is) on a greatest hits CD has been spiced up a bit (I bought said hits to get Sarah full length as released).

Watching this video brought back a lot of memories. I was at one of Edgar Winters concerts from this era and I still remember when he played Frankenstein and started playing the Saxophone that it was so loud it actually physically hurt! During this time period I also saw Rick Derringer open for Aerosmith. He played "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" and brought the house down. The crowd was completely stunned and even after the break when Aerosmith came out it took them awhile to get the crowd engaged again.
Love Rumours, but my vinyl copy is a Super Saver and sounds horrible, so dull. Always wanted the Pallas 45rpm pressing but didn't want to shell out for it, maybe now's the time, it's actually 40 bucks on Amazon. But a review says it sounds identical to the SACD which I think sounds outstanding.
Getting back into vinyl after 45 years I hit a large learning curve over mastering and versions, maybe it was all out there then but I remember 3 choices standard issue, mobile fidelity and another I can't remember,
That's a Jico, not the red bodied Shure original. if you can trawl through the worldradiohistory HiFi Choice scans (mid to late 80s) in the UK pages, you'll see the Colloms tests concerning how much better the official original V15 IIIHE was.
The Jico's are decent, the Jico SAS styli are more than decent - but not as good as the original Beryllium tube TOTL shures.
That would depend on what your point of listening to vinyl is. For me it is not about that ritual you always point to - that is a repeated workload that I don’t want to do when I just want to listen to music. I get it that that workload is your point of listening to vinyl, but it is definitely a negative but controllable aspect to vinyl in my case.
From my perspective you are playing with your music. Every time you have to flip the side and re-drop the needle - every 20 minutes-ish. Those are interruptions I do not want.
The great thing about perspectives, is they are different and all are valid.
