Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

Don't mean to revive the thread that should be dead, but all this cassette talk has got me JUICED. After all, I did purchase an EXT90 for my PRE90 mainly for the extra set of RCAs to connect my cassette player that is miraculously still working. So here it is in action, captured on my cell but it still benefits from listening on headphones or better:
I did pump up the subwoofer but overall I think it sounds pretty good.
And here is me flipping through sources, bookended by analogue:
Personally I think they all sound pretty good which is why I need all at my disposal, along with a gargantuan music library of vinyl, CDs, and cassettes.

Well, if you have the equipment and the cassettes, and it all still works, why not:) enjoy.

Never apologize for resurrecting this thread.
The vinyl Renaissance continues :)

That’s a lot of fun stuff you have there.

What a weird statement, why would you think it should be dead?
Vinyl is going stronger than ever since the beginning of the revival. Not sure this surname applies any more, as it has been so long and does not seem to be loosing steam any time soon.
As they said,

the news about the death of vinyl was premature.

There are some that wish death on this thread. I myself want it to continue forever. ASR seems more exciting to me when this thread is running hot.

I love my vinyl still, despite being a member here, the 2 can co-exist. I have an enormous library of vinyl that makes it hard to move. But it's just gotten too expensive, the used market has dried up some and demand is high. New records are at least $30 a piece. Last time I sprang on that was a couple Christmases ago when I had a little cash and bought 6. One of them was Taylor Swift's Midnights, the leggy variant, great record that's a subwoofer workout. So after that I only been to the indie record store a couple times. But old pressings of classic rock in very good condition were nearly 30 bucks as well. Had to pass on Physical Graffiti, think it was over $40. Wish I would have snagged it now in hindsight, but I was outta cash.

It actually is dead, but it just doesn't know it.

Another mystery!
The mystery is why you continue to read it and comment on it if you don't like it.
Obviously your statements have ZERO effect (on those that enjoy this [me included]).
Perhaps it gives you some sort of perverse satisfaction to punish yourself.
If so, enjoy!
If not, perhaps continuing to comment on it is not a good use of your time left here on this earth.
Then again, maybe you have other priorities.
I read your things in other threads because there is usually something in them that I can learn.
But here on this thread, I usually just skim over what you put out here, thinking: for a person that is so intelligent, yet he wastes his time on something that he cannot change: Again???
Reminiscent of Don Quixote.

^That^ is not true.
Every time they post it gives the opportunity to respond, so it is like a defibrillator to the thread in case it appears to be arrested.

Replace “him” with “it” or “Turntable”.

Ciao,

I have many musicals on LP's but not this one. Now I have another one to seek out. Thanks!

I actually prefer the Classic Records pressing on 200g (or 180g) vinyl, mastered by Bernie Grundman, to any CD versions. It's thicker and bassier in a way that works for the music, the Hammer of the Gods. Too bad it's so expensive it's unobtanium, but I got a rip to enjoy it. But it's not really the highest quality recording anyways.

3 copies from $500.00, and 13 copies from $337.50. Yikes. ;)

Yup. I only have 1 Classic Records Zep and it's III, and it sounds wonderful. Cost me $33 new back then. Shoulda snatched them all up but I thought that was pretty steep for 1 disc.
Mine were bought new back in the 70's. None of my carts were ever more than 1 & 1/4 grams of tracking force (and also typically recorded them on [MAXEL UDXL-II cassette tapes]) very early playing & then used (and still do) those. But I also recorded them onto CD's with my SONY 500 RCD. Next year, with some luck, I'll be digitizing them.
But the level of wear on my LP's that people talk about is not much.

I'm just saying it's possible this thread has been infected with Cordyceps. I see signs.

Is your LZII the Robert Ludwig cut? Wish I had that one, I have old pressings of the LZ discography but my II is the safe repressing. My Houses of the Holy is Ludwig, but that's normal. Just missing Physical Graffiti, Presence and Coda, big holes for sure but Coda doesn't really count as a proper album. Presence is only okay overall but I still wish I had it on vinyl.

I have Led Zeppelin 1 (1969 [at one of my other homes]), Led Zeppelin IV 1971 [here]), Led Zeppelin A4 82144 4 CASSETTE SET (1990) [here]). That is all the Led Zeppelin that I have. So no RL!
