I found these motivations quite interesting.
In my opinion, the Soundstage gets a lot better... :)
you can really sell just about anything with the phrase...there´s those who know more than me who say....

cheers from Munich Germany

You just need to find customers that are gullible enough, then you can sell them anything.
What I find interesting is how vociferously an idea no matter how ridiculous is defended once it has been accepted.

I think it was on reddit where I found someone describing himself as a former "cable denier" who was eventually converted. Sounds like a religion, doesn't it?

To really make a meaningful comparison you need two identical components, one with the fancy cable and the ability and will to switch between them unsighted, not many listeners are prepared to do that and absolutely no retailers!

What an absolute beat to death subject. How they look and raising any cable off the ground for cleaning is a GREAT idea. The absolute worst, is unkept rat nests that are behind 90% of ALL AVR systems. People complain about floor noise and it's usually a simple routing issue along with cleaning up the mess, (dust included). Dust and water on cables is a BAD combination, no if's ands or buts.

I use simple W or M 2" wide handmade wooden blocks I made 30 years ago. I painted them with high gloss automotive paint so dust and oil were easily removed.

There a science and an ART behind cable management that is quite easy to do, and it takes talent to get a great look.

I did a lot of cable and hose routing on high-vibration machines for well over 40 years. It's the single largest reason for breakdowns in the Heavy Equipment market, other than regular oil/filter/fuel and a daily/PLUS grease schedule at the very least. Grease is cheap and 50-150K drifters and 30-50K breakers are greased at least 2 times a day if not more.

Routing and cable management are just as important as room treatment, both are fidelity killers in any sound system. They cost very little and they pay huge dividends in the short, mid, and long run, no matter what equipment you have at any given time.

Simple basics are always the answer. But quacking about how a person does or doesn't use cables with management isn't. What a worn out bunch of repeated crap!

I think I'll go feed my happy chickens. At least a hand full of chicken scratch makes them happier than me eatin' bugs.

Regards

I bought some Mogami cables as thick as my thumb because they say it makes the sound more "hefty and mature". It did. But I upgraded the amp along with the cables.

Cable claims are aimed at those who have no understanding of electrical engineering. Since not everyone takes that up as a hobby or occupation, how would they know that the claims made for cables are not bogus?

sorry but.. also Paul says that they make a difference...

ist this a joke that I don´t catch?

:)

Just ask anyone selling lifters to provide measurements to support their claims

it is so weird....
I can't believe that people who design devices that respect the rules of physics... don't respect their customers and listeners by proposing these nonsense.
at this point is it legitimate to think that other things they sell are on the same plane as snake oil?

I would never sit on any of my equipment either. That is disturbing to me. Who would do that?

I could imagine sitting on the controller and hearing the glass crack. I've met Paul, and he never struck me as a person who would sit on any equipment.

Get a chair, buck-o. Geez.

I'd sure like to listen to that setup, better yet, own it and not have to pay for it. I wonder what the complete setup cost. I'll add my own source, thank you very much.

Regards.

...
Guilty, and proud to say. No noise. No interference. Sounds great! ;)
