Buying a NOS (new old stock) speaker, anything to look out for?

Is buying passive speakers that's been sitting in a warehouse for 4-5 years a bad idea? Let's assume said speaker has aluminum cone drivers with rubber surrounds and aluminum tweeters. Do crossovers (i.e. electrolytics) go bad? Or is it essentially a non-issue?

Asking for a friend.

Note: friend lives in tropical country so possibly more humid and warmer than normal in warehouses.

I'd be more worried about the effect of humidity on MDF and potential mold to be honest. Much is going to depend on actual packaging and storage condtions. Normally I wouldn't consider 4-5 years a particularly long time at all.

That's an interesting thread to follow.
How many of us find such a 50% off deal or more without considering how long the gear was kept in a warehouse without having a clue on the storage conditions?
