Dear All,
Where are the thoughts of the hive mind for a budget gym setup for a garage. Its a 4m x6m cellar space.

Cheap chifi amp frim topping or Aiyima is where I'm thinking of going but not sure of the speakers. Bluetooth into the AMP without a DAC would probably be sufficient.

Thanks in advance.

What about simply having active speakers with Bluetooth support?
For example Presonus or Pioneer
That would be perfectly fine in my opinion

If I were outfitting a small home gym it'd be TV on wall mount, Fire TV stick or Roku, Wiim Pro or mini, JDS DAC, Fosi amplification, JBL Stage 190 speakers.

2 Nest Audio speakers in stereo and done. ~$200 or so. Spotify connect from phone. EasyPeasy.

I would search for some bigger speakers, pa style of good quality with a wide dispertion. You won't be in the sweet sport, and the noise will be higher than a typical listening room. You don't need a precise speaker there as you don't have the attention for it. You need something that goes loud and is good sounding in general. A JBL JRX215 is something i recently installed in a gym. It's relative cheap, goes loud and is quiet good sounding for such a cheap speaker. And it can be hang from the ceiling, what may be important if space is limited.

In the garage/gym I have an Nvidia Shield 2019 and two Behringer B2030A Truth active speakers (+ a 55" Sony tv).
Music playing from Open Radio and other apps if needed.
Very happy with the setup.

Some good suggestions, I like the idea of some powered bluetooth speakers that I can connect my phone to. Bit limited on space so also a condideration.
90% decided on some Audioengine A5+... mostly because they are reviewed on ASR
Thanks for all your help.

You probably already bought and installed a rig, but it not, I’ve tried a number of garage speaker set-ups and settled on 3 of these:

I don’t think there is a better BT speaker out there for 100 bucks—lots of online reviews—check a few out.

Now, your room is a lot smaller than my deep 2.5 car garage, so one unit may be all you need. Since most activities in a garage are standing up, I mounted them in the middle of all 3 walls about shoulder height. They have a link function to connect all 3 together. With 3 basically omni speakers, the whole garage is a “sweet spot”. I’ve tried good bookshelf speakers on the counters, floor standers, and others, finding the mass Fidelity trio the best option. I have my Duevel Planet Omnis in the garage too, but those need to be uncovered and pulled out well into the room, not worth the trouble unless spending extensive time on a garage project.
