A space-spec'd one* to absolutely match their flagship and then some,a module like this cannot be restricted to the bare minimum it must push boundaries as everything else is solved. My question would be what would an SMPS race consist of?
What is missing from a high quality offering like Micro Audio that would somehow further advance performance?
But an SMPS already exists that can push their flagship module.A space-spec'd one* to absolutely match their flagship and then some,a module like this cannot be restricted to the bare minimum it must push boundaries as everything else is solved.

You're talking about the Micro probably. But an SMPS already exists that can push their flagship module.
So I ask again, what specifically are we asking for in a supposed improved SMPS?
Am I the one who's polluting the thread?Just wait for my test results and I will show you the boundaries for the 1ET9040 module.
The only thing I see from your posts here is repeatedly polluting this thread with the same story.
Sam
You're talking about the Micro probably.
@MicroAudio no offense, your PSU maybe the nicest (or not),I just want one matched by the purifi team (with their logo and all the bells and whistles and documentation) and their genius in place to maybe think of something different as they did with their amps.
Let me tell you something, I had enough of you.Am I the one who's polluting the thread?
Doing what exactly?Asking to see the full potential under my standards?Yours may differ but I don't blame you for that,am I?
I have never reported a post blaming me for something and I won't start now.Why just don't you make it short and tell me who sent you to pollute this thread?
And let us put Purifi away from this because Purifi is a professional company led by masters.
I am more than happy to see Purifi & HYPEX SMPS in the market tomorrow, that will make me work harder and create more competition.
Sam
As I thought, you want a "brand name" that will do the same exact thing that is already available. You're talking about the Micro probably.

Do whatever it takes.I have never reported a post blaming me for something and I won't start now.
So,take a breath and think calmly about what you're saying.
You missed the last sentence probably. As I thought, you want a "brand name" that will do the same exact thing that is already available.
Predictable.
If I interpret the datasheet correctly, 1600W should also be possible with a suitable PSU and good thermal management.
Hook a 50 watt amp to a DQ-10 & then tell me you heard a normal volume level? My question would be why we need kW amps where 50 Watt amps did the job so far?
(personally I do love these triple number ratings and do use it, to be honest)
Maybe you've never had or heard of Martin Logan Electrostatics that dip down to 0.5 ohms at 20kHz? I'm telling you 50W ain't gonna cut it.My question would be why we need kW amps where 50 Watt amps did the job so far?

@Lars Risbo , any reason you don't recommend the Microaudio PS as the default power source? We know the Hypex is limited to 1200W and not able to produce the 1400W into 2 ohms as shown in the 9040 datasheet. It seems to fit the bill just right. No need to spend extra design efforts on a new PS.Just wait for my test results and I will show you the boundaries for the 1ET9040 module.
Because I have on the table the 2400W SMPS I will burn the module in front of your eyes by pushing it to the limits.
The only thing I see from your posts here is repeatedly polluting this thread with the same story.

At what THD level do you generate the1200W? 0.1% 1%?Hi David,
With the SMPS1K-SN I pulled 1200W at 2 Ohms.
The SMPS output voltage in idle was +-47VDC and +-45VDC with the 1ET9040 module loaded 1200W.
Sadly, a screwdriver slipped underneath the 1ET9040 module and destroyed it during my test.
Now I am waiting for a new 1ET9040 module from Purifi to be shipped soon.
The SMPS1K-SN has active power factor corrector and the output voltage will remain the same at any AC input voltage range 120~260VAC
Thanks
