Open a thread, you'll get lots of suggestions. For instance, You might skip the Wiim ultra and go with a simple Wiim pro just for the streaming. Get a good DAC that also functions as a pre amp.
What do you think of using something like the Marantz Stereo 70s with the Buckeye as an attached power amp? It would give me a DAC and let me connect everything via HDMI and make the set up so easy for the wife.

I'm just concerned that Marantz will sound terrible.

Seems like the Bluesound Node has Dirac as an option and decent connection options. How ever I see it's not recommended here. Must not be very good.

My budget would be up to 1500-2000 or so assuming once I ordered the Buckeye. I need to be able to connect my turntable via RCA currently and my SMSL CD player.

Looked at
NuPrime DAC10
Tonewinner
Emotiva

But I don't really know anything about their quality.
Perhaps also consider RME 2/4ADI PRO SE which offers RIAA input, PEQ, loudness, bass/treble, 2 separate stereo outputs (with independent EQ - for use with sub for example) and headphone outputs. Build quality, support and warranty exemplary. Best to connect the CD via SPDIF - the RME DAC is better than the DAC in the CD player.

Why would you do that, just get Eversolo A8, add a Fosi phono stage, and you are set.

Someone talk me out of buying Purifi Monoblocks. Doubt I need the power over the Stereo amp with my Philharmonic BMR Towers. At least talk me into the Hypex Monoblocks if you think we need them. Save me some money.

Ok. Don't buy Purifi monoblocks, you don't need them. You don't need Hypex monoblocks either. Just get a stereo Hypex amp.

Thanks bro. Going to buy the Mrs one of those new JBL MA AvRs too. She wants an Onkyo A-50 but I'm fighting for a Buckeye amp.

LoL :D ... love your sense of humour ... anyways I have Buckeye 1ET9040BA monoblocks ... I am fully aware that I will never use that much power, but simply knowing I don't need to worry ever again, about clipping is comforting feeling. Hope that motivates you to go for them ;)

Unfortunately(fortunately?) I let my wife talk me into the Onkyo Icons. She hated the look of everything else. If (when?) they die then Buckeye is back on the table.

Did you capture idle power utilization of this amplifier by any chance?
Most users might just be driving it around that 80% times!
The standby is 1W, per Dylan. I measured with my Kill-A-Watt P3 and it showed zero, because it cannot go that low. I can see 3 green LEDs inside are on. When in standby you can set the standby switch to "auto" that triggers it ON by music, and back to standby if no music! Or you can set it to "12V trigger " cable to turn it on/off. Or you can set it to ON (always ON). This is THE perfect 1W energy solution! If you listen 8 hours a week, then you are in standby 95% of the time.
I measured ON with no music playing at 18W and 27VA.

Compare this to the NCx500 2ch with standby of 13W, 32VA, and ON with no music 26W, 55VA. Standby 13W is good (low) but 1W is amazing for a powerful amp.

EU requirement for devices on standby is 0.5W or less.

Based on component manufacturer specifications, the Purifi-based Buckeye 1ET9040BA monoblock amplifier should standby at 0.1W and idle at 10.3W. Outstanding.

For contrast, the Hypex-based Buckeye NCx500 monoblock amplifier should standby at 0.2W and idle at 26.4W. Still good, but not as efficient.

I just leave mine on. They sip power and run cool.

Does that include the power supply and the buffer? I think the three main components of the buckeye is amp, power supply and buffer. And I assume the 1W Dylan stated may have been rounded off

Yes, amp + power supply. As I understand the design, the 'buffer' runs off the auxiliary line which is included in the numbers.

Just got a shipping notice on a pair of these to drive a pair of Infinity Kappa 9s

Will report back once it’s all setup

Nice to see that it lives up to it's 8 ohm specs. The other Hypex/Purify amps doesn't.

Do you know if this is to be expected with models from Apollon as well which use 9040BA modules? Or is this due to the power supply used by Buckeye?

The Hypex power supplies are less capable than Microaudio supplies in terms of power delivery. Buckeye Amps explains this on their webpage. This may be why you see that that some implementations of Purifi amps fall marginally short of the Purifi data sheet which is measured with rock solid power supplies, most likely. But we are only talking about a shortfall in power delivery of a small fraction of a db.
March Audio also manufactures a 9040 based amp, the P801, which incorporates a Microaudio power supply, I believe.
