Buckeye NC252MP Stereo Amplifier Review

There is still a faint on/off pop. Nothing at all dangerous/harmful to the speakers and barely above background noise for the most part.

My 5 cents, I never heard anything related to on/off of AMP. I have trigger from DAC to turn on AMP, and never heard a thing (using it for almost 4 years already).

I power the amp up using the amp’s on and off switch and haven’t noticed pops or thumps either.

Hello everyone, I have question. I’m running a 11.6.6 atmos home theater. My equipment is Trinnov Altitude 32/24+ 4. I have 2 Trinnov Amplitude 8 (375 watts into 4omhs) for a total of 16 channels. I know for sure I’ll use one Amplitude 8 to power all 8 surround speakers. About my speakers. I’ll using 3 Kef CI5160 for the front stage (350 watts of power handling)

For the 8 surround speakers will be the Kef CI3160 ( same power handling ). Would you use the Amplitude 8 to power the front stage with 5 channels left over( maybe for future speakers) Then use 2 Buckeye Hypex NCx500 3-Channel ( 700 watts @ 4 ohm ) ( THD: 0.0006% (350W, 4Ω, 20Hz-20kHz) to power the 6 height speakers Kef CI200RR use each amp per side ( left/right ). Or, I could get a 3-channel amp like the same Buckeye, Legacy MASTERS COLLECTION IV ULTRA SERIES.

iV3 ULTRA: (1000 watts per channel x 3 @ 4 ohms, all channels driven), or get another Amplitude 8 for a total of 24 channels.

Any advice or suggestions is much appreciated.

First, this is a review thread, so it may get better (and more) response if you create a new thread to ask your questions.

The Kef CI200RR are 4-ohm speakers with 90 dB sensitivity and recommended power up to 190 W. You are in the NC252mp thread but are asking about the NCx500. I think the NCx500 is overkill for those speakers and suggest you consider the NC252mp amplifiers, the subject of this thread. I am using a four-channel NC252mp Buckeye amp for my four overheads (Revel M80XC, driven by a JBL SDP-75, a rebadged Altitude 32) and have never had any problems. Personally, for six overheads, I would purchase 4-channel and 2-channel NC252mp amplifiers to power them. More than enough power and saves money for other things. I also prefer to keep channels in pairs in case something breaks; that way, I can keep other pairs working in the event of failure. Then I would connect the amplifier channels in L/R pairs rather than for each side.
