I am not familiar with calculating heat dissipation. It appears from the interior dimensions at the link below that select models of Buckeye Amps could fit in a McIntosh Labs LB200 'Light Box'

I can't even. Is this a box with lit logo. Which costs.1.500 USD??

Yes, that is my understanding. A gently used one on discount might make sense for someone starting out - who wanted to hide gear for the next 40 to 50 years.

I always feel a little bit like an old curmudgeon (get off my lawn) every time I repeat that if looks are that important to a prospective customer then there are other options on the market.

Based on the increase in sales this year compared to last it seems to not matter to my target audience, either.

I don’t say that to sound cocky or dismissive. But cosmetics are clearly only a negative to a small minority since Day 1 and it would be somewhat foolish for me to think I can appease everyone, let alone try.

Dylan,

Please refuse this request for proprietary information as you see fit.......

Can you share the approximate percentage of enclosures sold with a custom finish on at least one of the panels ?

You sound like a total tosser.

How about starting up a business - warning it takes courage.
Steady on - that's not how we do things round here.

I’d say it was one out of every 80 customers.

Because I have access to all the sales stats, trends, etc for my business…
That's self evident. But that doesn't explain how you could possibly be aware of a parallel reality where you had used another design.
You can't say it doesn't matter because you don't know.

But I am saying it doesn’t matter…

And how would you know..? :)
Because I have access to all relevant matters of numbers and statistics for sales.

I think the error here is you’re assuming I need more sales. That if I’m selling 1200 amps in one year, it would obviously be better to increase on that number by offering a nicer case.

If all I cared about was money, sure. But that’s not the case (no pun intended).

I'm not assuming you need more sales. I just don't think you're right in assuming "it doesn't matter" when it comes to design. Obvious by your own statement that you could've sold more with a nicer case it actually does matter.

You could cater to a broader group by offering a nicer case. But you don't because your are happy with your sales. And that's okay. That doesn't mean it doesn't matter what the case looks like.

I never said a nicer case wouldn’t matter at all.

I always get a chuckle out of the case cosmetics discussions that still come up.

Okay but you also wrote this-->

It’s more than amusing that the same lame complaints about case appearance continue. It seems every month or so over the past year (probably longer) someone picks up one of the @Buckeye Amps threads and starts down this road of boring, bland, etc. cases. It’s gotten old and clearly is not budging the options. If the appearance is not for you, shop elsewhere. We don’t all need to keep reading and responding to the same trivial points.

But WHERE is the all Vanta black amp with a black power button and a little black light that lights up black on a black background to let you know it's on??? That's what I want.

If Protocase EVER offered a commercial Vanta Black-like powder coat
