Regardless of why or what concerning announcement timeline/lackthereof/changes to past MO....it really doesn't matter for the realm of dicussion in this thread. The key takeaway is a revision is imminent for production use.

This is another good point. Notably if the change is big enough, electrical certifications may need to be redone. Also, while the new module may be very compatible with the previous one, it still may require interface modification(s). The Hypex NCx500 was originally claimed to be "pin compatible" but some software changes kept it from being a truly drop-in replacement in many cases. This may be why Hypex continues to supply both modules today. A botched replacement is usually much more costly for a supplier (and its customers).

Buckeye's designer is evaluating the 1ET400A replacement for full compatibility. Sure Dylan will post details soon.

I am glad to have advance notice of upcoming product changes. It lets me delay purchases to sort out what happens in the short term. This is helpful for an amplifier which is something I expect to buy and not change. This is all convenient for me as we are in the process of redoing our system after a move a few years ago.

Purifi's Claus Neesgaard had this to say of the 1ET400A's replacement, "We have not yet officially announced a 1ET400A replacement module, but when we do it will be form/fit/function equivalent. I.e., it will have the same voltage/current capability as existing."

The new amps are up on the website. Just out of curiosity, will there be a micro audio power supply for the 1ET6525SA amps?

I'm mostly interested in standby implementation on the Hypex vs Micro Audio power supply. I can't remember if this is configured on the SMPS1200A400 with the current input/control board.

I did try to temper expectations by saying they would be subtle changes (I think that's what I said). Essentially just a refresh with only a modest price increase over the 1ET400A prices.

$100 more with 6-8 week delay. Looks like it still won't have OPA 1656 or gain stage 0f 27.5dB or higher available?

And no, still using the 1612 (which, again, is what Purifi uses for their reference board designs outside the 9040). And gain stage staying the same.

It is essentially form fit/function of the 1ET400A so no need to refresh input board, etc.

Yeah, I'll stick with my 400A monos which are already more than I need to be honest.
